Morning Chaps

Could someone please explain the correct way to shoot english skeet. Being new to the game i have had a few rounds at different grounds and everyone seems to explain it a different way, ie when you miss one, or shooting the high tower first from all the stations, if you miss non what do you shoot with the last cart.

Looking forward to your answers :D

A round a English Skeet will use 25 cartridges.

The first bird you miss will be marked down as a miss on the scorecard, but you get to take that bird again and with your score for that retaken bird added onto the end of the scorecard.

If you go round the whole layout and hit everything, you have one cartridge left over... then you pick either the high house or low house on stand seven, and go for it.

Regarding the singles - you ALWAYS shoot the high tower first except on the final stand - low tower first there.

Regarding the pairs, on stands one and two you will shoot the high tower bird first.

On the pairs on stand four you make the choice and have to tell the scorer whether you will be shooting the high or low bird first.

On stands six and seven you must shoot the low bird first of the pair.

There aren't any pairs on stand three or five.

You must always put two cartridges in the gun, even when you're shooting the singles, and you must stay behind the stand until everyone has shot from it.

Hope that helps mate

:D
