stubbles in Lichfield

Yesterday; after finishing work, I dropped onto the other permission I acquired for a look-see and there were a few pigeons dropping in to the stubbles.

I had to walk a fair bit to the opposite hedgerow to get some shade to protect me and the dog, as it was 26 deg.

I set up the hide in a gap under the hedge with the breeze coming from the left and after a long wait the birds returned to the field but not in any numbers. Just the odd 1's and 2's and ended up with 27 shot.

Very humid and drank 4 litres of water between us.

On the way home I spotted a large flock on some wheat stubbles near Wishaw.

I might have to do a door-knock or two today.

Anybody shoot that area? Could be very productive.
