Hubertus
Thats the result of a stalk in the middle of the day. Was really good sport. The boar was sleeping in the bracken that you can see on the pic. I was stalking there because the boar sleep there very often. You cant see very far (sometimes only 1 meter) and have to be very slow to prevent noise. Some distance you have to cross on all four. The boar dissapeared round about 5 meters in front of me and went straight to attack me. Its not usual for a healthy (means not wounded) boar. I shot him straight in the head while he was running to me. Had a lot of adrenalin in the blood. Its not normal, that i shoot the boar on such short distances. Hubertus
@M Robson: yes we do sausages from time to time. They are really superb. And we grill the venison too. It tastes very very good. @Frank: The number of boar in germany is different. There are areas which have no boars at all and some where live many. Where i go hunting there are quite a lot of. Boar tastes really good. It hast more taste compared with red or fallow deer. Hubertus
