Alpha Mule
I'm interested in trying these out in my Umarex Airmagnum. They are only 10.3 grains (for .22) so should have a higher velocity and a flatter trajectory. I'm punching holes in rabbits anyway (using 16g Logun predators) so accept that these will just do the same. Has anyone tried these in any rifle and how did you find them? Colster
Not a fan of plastic skirted pellets myself. We all know that the pellets leaves traces of the skirt in the barrel and I'd rather it was nice slippery lead dust than melted plastic. More specifically though I don't think they'll fit in the mag of the Umarex. Also bear in mind if the velocity goes too high they could go all over the place. I would say pellets that light are probably better suited to pistols. Edited August 25, 2009 by Colster
bullet boy
If they have plastic skirting then leave them well alone!I had so many problems in the past with Prometheous pellets with the plastic getting stuck in the rifling of the barrel! ttalbot09
DO not use amzingly inaccurate pellet watch it swoop of the the left or right after 20 yards. like a bb gun using 0.12g bbs horrible
Alpha Mule
Pity. I've been looking for a lighter pellet to flatten out the trajectory. I'm using AA Fields and Logun Penetrators. They are accurate, and hit hard, but you can see them arc through the air. When I say hard I mean they often pass clean through the prey (rabbit, rooks, crows, magpies and woodies). I can't afford another (.177) rifle, so no point in suggesting it - ta I'll leave the Skencos alone too.
ttalbot09
mate try "webley mosquito express" they are very accurate flat trajectory pellet in .22 iv took rabbits with them at 50 yards or so in the hw100s....! and they are brilliant in 177 aswell really fast through my chrono you dont get a pellet under 800fps. not sure what they are in 22 havnt tried it. Colster
I seem to remember around 14.5g was the sweet spot for a non-FAC .22, so I'd suggest some of the most popular ones on here: Any Crosman (except Heavy) H&N Field & Target Trophy RWS Superdomes I've not tried the H&N's myself but both the Accupels and Superdomes work well in my Gamo. Alpha Mule
Looking at BAR's site the only one posting weights of those you guys have recommended are the mosquitos at 14.3g, so I'll try a tin and see how they behave. Quids are tight so I will do a tin at a time (don't fancy the Pellpack option as I've tried a fair few of them already.

Alpha Mule
Liking the blurb about the Crosman Premiers. Any opinions here (other than they are bloody expensive)?
Alpha Mule
FWIW I've just bought a pack of Acupells. Thanks for all the info.
Colster
I'm thinking they work best in mine, I have a piece of half inch chipboard as a backstop and the accupels can get through it from 30yards away and/or leave a big bit of damage on the back too Edited September 2, 2009 by Colster
Beardo
i'm a big Accupel fan, good consistent hard hitting accurate pellets
Alpha Mule
Well Accupells and MY 850 don't get on! Wouldn't group for toffee (not counting regular fliers, I had trouble keeping them within 3" of each other)! They caused no end of problems in the magazine too. I bought a tin of RWS Superdomes and fell in love. In MY rifle they are fanbloodytastic! Smooth as lubricated condoms! No snags and I can put 8 slugs through a cloverleaf at 28m as easy as I can expell gas from my rectum (I expell gas from my rectum a lot). Ta for the input folks! Surely the word/swear filter will allow the 4 letter version of "expell gas from my rectum" Edited September 11, 2009 by Alpha Mule
ttalbot09
tried accupel after this post and found they were accurate in my hw100 but they left alot of lead in the barrel and there was more bent ones in the tin.. i think il stick to the mosquito express because the tins are excellent cant find one bent skirt. and found them more accurate. also through the chrono they were more consistent.
