training session

What do your training sessions consists off , As i dont want the dog getting bored of mine

 

When we get to the land we do a bit of heel work followed by a few sits then leave her and recall to the whistle , I then do a couple of throws with the dummy and that is about it , I want to try and make it more exciting . What else could i throw in to make it a better session ?

 

Any tips on how you train yours would be great

sounds like your doing the right stuff with your dog don't do the same thing when out with your dog do different exercises keep it interested and all ways end the training sessions on a high good luck with further training

First don't use the recall to call her to you from the sit, the recall is for when she's away from you not you away from her.

So sit her slap bang in the middle of the field then walk off a really long distance and preferably completely out of sight and wait, (if you smoke a cigs length is a good time period) then return to her and collect her praising her highly for staying put.

Throw out a single seen retrieve let her nearly get on it then give the sit whistle/command wait then get her to resume.

Throw out a retrieve then recall her just before she pics it up then give the go back command.

sit her and walk round a hedge or something and place a blind retrieve,go back to her and throw out a seen retrieve and send her for the blind first then alternate it.

sit her and walk out a really good distance and place a retrieve being very obvious about it so she sees well,then secretely and unseeen pop it under your armpit and move it to a different location completely unseen.Return to her then send her out for the retrieve when she can't find it she will either carry on hunting or try and return if she tries to return give the highlost command which means get back in there and don't come back till you've found it.

and I think that'll keep you both going for a good while.
