scolopax
midge cream, midge nets, gloves, anything and everything to keep the damn things off. If there are no midges, then thats because its raining (highly likely) so a couple of sets of good waterproof gear, just in case one set is not as waterproof as it should be. If its not raining very heavily then you have the double delight of getting bitten by midges whilst getting wet, oh joy! Also, rifle, ammo, binoculars, 2 x knifes, stalking stick(s), roesack or dragging rope. If you take a dog get him frontlined, excellent treatment for ticks, they still jump aboard but die pretty rapidly soon afterwards. Have fun, its a great place to be....I think. Dunkield
Surely midges are only a problem in the summer, he is going hind stalking so they shouldn't be an issue.

Dunkield
Midge season = February to November We go every October, never seen a midge. Apparently the place is crawling with them in the summer.
