Pigeon_snIPer
Hi, I have just seen a Geco 12 bore DBBL hammer shotgun in very good condition. The markings below the barrel have CHOKE 182 mentioned below it - any idea what kind of choke that is. Also how is the performance of this gun. If anyone has any pictures to share that will be nice. Steel100
Pigeon Sniper, The figure you mention is in millimetres and will usually read something like 18,2 or 18,3 i.e. 18.2 or 18.3 mm (remember that on the continent they use the comma instead of the decimal point). This generally refers to the bore dimensions directly in front of the chamber. If it actually refers to the choke at the muzzle and not the constriction just in front of the chamber then I'd take it to be about cylinder choke. However, I'm sure somebody with a better understanding will come along to clarify the position. Andy
Pigeon_snIPer
Thanks Andy, Im pretty sure that there is no ',' or' .' between the numbers. It specifically says CHOKE 182. I shall try to post some pics as soon as i see the weapon again. Thank you. /S/ Edited September 16, 2009 by Pigeon_snIPer
Hammergun
18.2 is a fairly tight choke. GECO is a German munitions maker before the 2nd World War, particularly active in the 1920s and 1930s.
