henry d
Is it a youngster, answer yes and it is, answer no and it will be as tough as a "Hoor`s heart" For best results either way try a casserole
Suffolk shooter
All depends how you cook it HD Cook it in the oven slow roasting with tinfoil sealing the tin, onion in the cavity, butter between Skin and meat, plenty of chooped root veg on the bottom of the pan, bird on top with a stock made from the giblets poured in. Cook on high heat for 20 mins and then turn down to 150 and cook for 3 hours. Slice thinly and the thing should melt in your mouth. shoughton
If it's young it's great. If it's an older one then you need to roast it, with a brick for 3 hours at a moderate temp. Once it's finished cooking, discard the goose and eat the brick. Sorry mate - couldn't resist :look: We had one last Jan - I thought it would be OK but I have to say it was the worst ever meal we've had from shooting. Thankfully my 17 year old eats anything and everything and he picked the bones clean. The poor dog gets little from the table lately.
