stevethevanman
Hey guys, I am about to be getting another .17HMR and was wondering if the 16" 452 Varmint barrel will give me any less performance that the 20" as I have heard you loose a little bit of velocity. I will be shooting them out to 150yds...200yds at a touch So I was wondering what I loose with 16"? tweedledee
i went for the 20 inch.purely down to cost.i won`t be using it from inside a vehicle so did n`t need the shorter one.i don`t think there is any difference in performance.purely a personal opinion
Beardo
as above - if you shoot from a vehicle - get the 16", it's just a lot easier to use.
stevethevanman
Thanks guys...I was worried I wouldnt be able to hit them at longer ranges as I feared velocity drop but thanks I think it will be the 16" Steve

stevethevanman
bit long range for them thats so against it, what. sporting or fieldcraft skillful I cant get no closer there...they sit in a little dip against another permission, so I have to shoot from high up a bank, the shot works out to be about 150yds...I cant get any closer without them being spooked...I wouldnt really call 150yds long range either, most foxes are shot around this range.
