Cranfield
Does anyone purchase prescription medicine for their pets on the Inetrnet ? Our English Setter has been taking a low dose steroid for the last 2 years and will need to take it for the rest of her life. Our Veterinary has just charged us an extra 20% for the next months supply, "due to a Manufacturers price increase". That means they are now costing me over £50 per month. I have done a Google search, but can only find USA sites, or UK ones flogging flea powder and the like. Any ideas ?
potshot
This site was promoted recently - we did a price comparison on kaobiotic tablets and there wasn't a great deal of difference. It may be worth a go http://www.bestpetpharmacy.co.uk/ Edited July 11, 2005 by potshot

Cranfield
YP, the steroid is Methylprednisolone and we buy it as Medrone V in 4mg tablets. I have located some in Spain that I can buy without prescription, but it does seem rather "iffy".
potshot
Cranfield Did you look at the website I sugested??? The tabs you want are £11.26 per pack of 30 but they do want to see your prescription
Cranfield
Potshot, I did have a look and noted the price, thanks very much. Its about half what I am paying our Vet at the moment. As a matter of interst ,. I asked how much they would charge for a prescription and was told "about £10 ". I am currently in communication with a potential Spanish source, that needs no prescription and might cost as little as £12.50 per 100 tablets. But, if things don't work out, I will be back to bestpetpharmacy.co.uk
