Dickiebig
Hi is this a breechloader or a muzzleloader. What length of barrels, lop, cast and weight is it. Also do you have any pic's. Strange but all the usual questions. ATB Dickie.

Excellent starter double 8. In fact I am actually tempted myself, so you may have to be quick........
ptrangmar
10 to 8 bore! 60 thou is a fair bit to bore out. What shot weight will it handle and what does the gun weigh. Does it kick much it being a 10 G to start with?
Dick
I'll get back to you all with all answers and a photo in the next day or so. But to be going on with... It kicks no more than a 12. It weighs about 12 lbs. It's built like a Victorian brick outhouse. It's enormous fun and clean kills geese and duck...I once took an optimistic shot at a crossing crow that must have been 60-70 yards away...dead in the air!! I'm not certain that it is a bored out 10g as all of the proportions and the muzzle end thickness are correct for an eight...including the weight and it does not have two stes of proof marks. I bought it from Elderkins. ****. .

starlight32
10 to 8 bore! 60 thou is a fair bit to bore out. What shot weight will it handle and what does the gun weigh. Does it kick much it being a 10 G to start with? It was an engineering design to do so... The barrel blanks were all the same, as they came off the production line numbers of them were bored out to an 8. So if you had a 10g elderkins then you had more meat around the barrel than most other 10g owners. As for shot load, standard reloads from 2 to 2 5/8 oz. I have a friend who owns bespoke double 8 with four inch chambers and uses brass cases. It has a double discharge ability for when he uses it as a punt gun. He uses a 100g of tungsten in each shell. Anyway a little of track they are still an excellent starter 8.
