  1. Evening all. Have relocated to Aberdeen with work and am looking to continue Wildfowling. Does anyone know of any clubs up here or any syndicates? Have tried google but turned up a complete blank :(. Any help greatly appreciated.
  2. Does it have to be Whit or would UNC do (roughly the same TPI just at a different angle as Whit is 55 deg and UNC is 60)? Can also give you nuts and washers if required
  3. Set of 4 rear axle u-bolts to fit 1996 onward Jeep Cherokee. Come in useful when you change the rear springs (usually because your jeeps got a saggy back end!, saves all the hassle of removing and reusing the old ones! Also got the bolts to fit the back of the spings (M14x100mm long) if needed. Cost £50 plus postage from Mansfield 4x4. yours for £35 posted. Any questions please message me. Cheers Matt
  4. If you in the North West of England Bamfords near Chorley had 10ga Tungsten Matrix cartridges in but as I recall they were about £48 for 10 or there abouts!
  5. Just as a matter of interest. I`m assuming your talking about Tungsten being in it Matrix form (i.e ITM or what ever you wish to call it). In that case, when tungsten is in its matirx with a polymer I would think it will be SOFTER than steel, otherwise why is it acceptable to use in older guns that can`t handle steel shot???
  6. Stew, appreciate your a busy man, but can you email the pics of the 8 bore please? Very interested in it. Cheers Matt
  7. Sent 2 pm`s with email address asking about the Greylag. Did you get them?? If not please reply and I`ll send my email address again. Very interested in the Greyalg but would need to see some pics before I can commit!!!!!!! Cheers Matt
  8. Lampa, can you PM me your contact details please? Mate of mine is looking for a bike for his lad and is very interested. Cheers
  9. Shall we add a little bit of science to this thread and try to settle this one with a little bit of tangible FACT rather than a whole load of conjecture and opinion?!!! The statement that going up two sizes versus lead is based on some reasonable fact. Given leads density at around 11000kg/cubic metre and steels at around 7850kg/cubic metre then, based on ENGLISH shot sizes the following is true. No 5 shot is .110" dia. Lead in this shot size is .126g per single shot and steel .09g No 4 shot is .12" dia. Lead would be .1634g and steel .1167g No 3 shot is .13" dia. Lead would be .1977g and steel .141g (almost the same as no. 5 lead see?!!!) No 1 shot is .14" dia. Lead would be .28g and steel .1999g (almost the same as no. 3 lead see?!!!!) BB shot is .16" dia. Lead would be .397g and steel .283g (almost the same as no. 1 lead see?!!!!!) SOOOOOOO the advice of move up two sizes from lead to steel hold some good basis in scientific fact (it will give roughly the same pellet mass relationship). Now, assuming that our pellets have the same mass and move at the same speed (lets say 1400fps) then, according to the well known and widely accepted formula that Kinetic Energy = half mass multiplied by velocity squared then, steel (if its pellet mass is the same as the lead load used, even if the pellet diameter is different!) will perform as well as lead! This of course does not allow for increased air resistance due to larger diameter pellets and also assumes that lead and steel are fired at the same velocity. So, to sum up, go up TWO shot sizes and shove it up your barrels faster than a lead load and hey presto! Steel will be just as good at taking things out! Science lesson over and end of argument??? So, there. You have to get out there and give it a go lad! Try it, if you still don`t get on with it, don`t blame the cartridge or the gun, blame yourself! Its totally different to lead so it takes time to get used to the change, and most importantly PRACTICE!!!!!!. I don`t agree with a ban on lead shot and I don`t agree with BASC and the likes appearing to do it behind its members backs, but I do know this much. Steel will, in the right hands and the right circumstances do the job just as well as lead.
  10. PM Sent regarding the 10 bore loader.
  11. Got a side by side 10 bore and now needs so loading gear ready to feed it on for the forthcoming wildfowling season (ok, ok I know its 4 months away but nothing like starting early!). Anyone got any 10 bore loading gear they want or are willing to part with for a reasonable price? Please, please, PLEASE!
  12. Generally the same here too. 28 grams of 7 1/2`s or 8`s for clay, 32 gram 5`s for rabbits and pigeons (might go as far as 35 or 36 gram 5`s for really high pheasants), Steel 5`s or 4`s for duck and generally 3`s or 1`s in hevishot for geese (36 grams for the geese and 31 grams for the ducks), although depending on the price I have been known to use 1`s and bb`s in steel for geese depening on price and aavailability of hevishot.
  13. If you want to seperate it can I have first dibs on the loading gear and carts please??. Matt P.S Did you get my previous PM`s about the same subject
  14. Have used the Victory steel for duck and the mini magnums for foxes etc. Both shoot well, hit hard and do the job. As others have said, not the most refined cartridge available but for the cash, they go bang and do the job. What more could you want???
  15. If your interested in selling the loading gear seperatley can I have first dibs on it please??? Cheers Matt
  16. Anyone got any 10 bore reloading gear they want shut of? Will consider full set ups or bits and pieces, cash waiting Cheers Matt
  17. You far from Frodsham mate (about 10 miles from Chester)?
  18. Anyone got any kicking around they don`t use? Is it still available or is there a modern alternative?
  19. Fergie, I have a spread sheet that works out, givn certain perameters if reloads are cheaper than factory made shells. If you want it, PM me your email and I will forward it on to you. Matt
  20. I`ve used steel 3`s (36 gram) for geese before now at ranges upto 30 yards with sucess. I have to admit thought that my prefered load is Hevi-Shot 3`s for geese where they are available at a reasonable price.
  21. Thanks for the replies gents, much appreciated! Can brass cases be used with Tungsten Matrix? That was the intended shot for use in my ten bore. Also, what kind/grade of brass should I use or does it make any difference??
  22. OK yet another question! What kind of brass are brass shotgun cases made from? Does the grade/type matter significantly? Secondly anyone got a source of brass cases or drawings to make your own? Even if some one has some kicking round I would be greatful of borrowing one as a template and am happy to throw a couple of home made ones in, in return for the loan of one to copy :-) Thanks in advance
  23. Anyone got a universal charge bar and powder baffle to fit an MEC 600??? Also anone got any 10 gauge bits for one too (resizing ring and crimp ). Cheers Matt
  24. OK I know to the seasoned relaoder this is probably a daft question, but, here goes anyway! When reloading brass cases how do you get the over shot card to stay in place? I`ve hear some one say they use silicon sealant. Is that acceptable? If not, whats the "prefered" method? Many thanks in advance! Matt
