chewyjack.22
Hey paulos, my two have a bed of hay, and sawdust in the run, i feed them on the dry food you can get from any pet shop, i find that dog and cat food goes through them a bit fast, i give them a little in the morning before i go to work then a little when i get home, i clean the **** corner every two days. Good luck with her and let us know how she does. Hope this helps you
flash
once you find out where they **** you can put a litter tray there to make it easier to clean out, it may not work for you, but i have to ablino jills that are both litter trained and very tame hope it helps. flash
Ferret Master
Hi, They always **** the furthest away from their nestbox that they can because they are very clean animals. I feed mine James Wellbeloved Ferret Complete which is available from most pet stores and has the correct nutritional requirements for a ferret. ( Cat food lacks in vitamins and protein required for ferrets.) I leave food down all day in a bowl because they have a very short digestive tract and what they eat is out again in about 4-6 hours. I put a litter tray furthest away from the nestbox and they use a litter tray where ever they see it now so I can bring the little devils in the house (complete with litter tray) in the evening for 20 mins to handle and play with as they love attention. Keep handling her to keep her tame; I get mine out around 3 times a day. I also walk them on a little leather harness which I bought from a Jollyes petstore because it keeps their claws down. Don't be afraid of spoiling it even if it's a worker they hunt just as well if not better if they are full and happy not hungry and scared. Hope this helps a bit and if you want to know any more just ask me FM

Frank
What happened to good old ferreting with ferrets and wholesome carcass feeding? Thats probably why their is so many ferrets around that dont work good enough, they are getting kept more like cats, as pets.
Ferret Master
Hi, Mine are quite a novelty in the area and it is amazing the amount of people that think they are horrible spiteful things but are holding them by the time I have finished talking to them. Mine are very tame and I have no problem with 3yr olds holding them providing they are supervised. FM

Hi, No matter how much you 'molloycoddle' them they will still have the hunting instinct. I don't ferret at the moment (I would like to start but don't have the equipment or the knowledge ) but I allow mine to play down a single hole and they love it. I give mine anything dead that I can sneak past my Mum but the Ferrets are her new cats and they can get anything out this person that until I brought home 2 kits at 8 weeks old hated Ferrets. By the way mine get on well with the proper cat providing she doesn't wag her tail as that proves just to tempting. FM

paulos
hi, thanks for replies everyone! sadly i no longer have the ferret, due to one thing and another i now wouldnt have the time to take care of her  and i wouldnt keep any animal if i couldnt give it 100% the attention it needs. ive given her to my nephew, whos taking excellent care of her ive given him all the advice from here and bought him a couple of books on them so he should be fine. it also means wel still be able to work her when shes grown a little. thanks again! paulos
