  1. 3.5" chambers don't need a FAC as it's your responsibility to not put more than 3 rounds in them, which is exactly the same as 3" chambers. 3"x2=6" and 2"x3=6. I doubt a semi would cycle 2" shells properly anyway (even if you could find them in 12g), I know my Mossberg .410 doesn't.
  2. I always though you could send anything BUT barrels. Why not just call your local authority and ask them. If you are allowed to send barrels, I guess you could send them separately.
  3. I guess they're ok if you really need the moderator, but if you don't they're pretty expensive. For similar money you could get a Mossberg pump .410, and that's a lot of fun.
  4. Never use the Countrystore in Shustoke. The main man is a ****. The guy you're likely to see just works there and he's the nicest guy you would want to meet. But remember who he works for.
  5. Absolutely. More specifically for me a second hand silver pigeon in 20g. I swear I've never used anything as lively as that, and for pigeons that's what you need.
  6. Beretta or Benelli. Benelli is inertia driven while Beretta is gas. This means the Beretta is more work to clean and softer to shoot. To be honest I'd have a Benelli if I thought it was worth the extra money, they're lighter and more swingable. As it is I have a Urika 2 and it's a brilliant gun. I've put 150 rounds through it in a couple of hours before and it never misses a beat. I've put 50g loads through it and it's tolerable. With 24g loads you could shoot it one handed all day long, if it would consistently cycle them (which it won't, needs at least 28g).
  7. I've had one for a while. Some people love them while some hate them. They're very light, which is great for carrying it around, but some people don't like that because it feels flimsy. It's not though, and actually the flex it has is good for springers as it allows consistent jump. It isn't that easy to adjust, but it does work when you get the hang of it. Plus it's versatile because you can remove the rear rest to use it with pistols. I've never used it with a CF, but I did pattern a shotgun with it (ouch).
  8. Only bad thing about the fn12 lighthunter is the low shots per fill. I personally don't like the look of the stock, but that's just me. WTC are perfectly good scopes.
  9. All firearm law relates specifically to "any lethal barrelled weapon", therefore crossbows can't be legislated by the firearms laws. So either they change the definition of a firearm, which I don't particularly trust them to do, or bring in a whole new law for crossbows(and while they're at it, how about knives...). It's all the thin end of the wedge really. As an aside, harpoon guns aren't covered by firearms law either since it specifically excludes any device designed to be used underwater. Those things can be pretty lethal too. Oh, and to rapid bunny, that is part of the violent crime reduction bill passed in cotober. The same bill that banned replica weapons. All firearms, including air weapons have to be sold by a registered firearm dealer, and must be collected in person.
  10. Falcon have never made a bad rifle. All the models work in much the same way, and have the same barrel and air tank configuration. So, the better the stock, the better the gun. Other than that, multishots are more desirable. I have two and one of them is the fn19 tw, a single shot with a walnut thumbhole stock which I still consider to be one of the best looking air rifles ever made. Oh, and 70 shots in 19" .22 and maybe 55 - 60 from .177 is about the most you can expect.
  11. Most gunshops would probably get you a couple of boxes if you ask.
  12. I think it has an awful lot to do with the police in many areas preferring .17hmr due to ricochets. In a lot of cases, even if you specifically request a .22wmr they won't let you have one.
  13. You can't BUY carts without a certificate, but you can legally possess them. Another one of our sensible firearm laws.
  14. Lancs Lad is bang on about subsonics. It will also have problems ejecting some 24g fibre wads, for example Eley firsts for definite. Plastic wad 24g should be ok, but the recoil is so soft with 28g it wouldn't be worth it anyway. You can adjust the system down to allow for the lightest of loads, but I've never fancied forgetting I've done it and putting magnum loads through. You'd fancy the gun could take it, but if it doesn't...
  15. Depends what shot size I've got. 1/2 or 1/4 with #6, but if all I've got is target loads in #8 I use full. Generally I don't think it's too much of an issue for pigeons though, just depends what you're happy with.
