  3. Thats a "ballpark" figure, it could be less depending on the number of junior members taken on or the number of vacancies each year, but expect 7 to 8 years for full membership. In the probationary two years you are still classed as full member. Morecambe bay is classed as a "dead mans shoes" club, but with every passing season you are one step closer to getting full membership. There are other clubs on the west coast that have longer waiting lists, i heard of one club that has a waiting list of between 20 to 25 years at the moment.
  4. I feel i should point out that every associate member of MBWA gets three "day" tickets per season, each ticket runs for about six weeks and has to be used within the specified dates ? (not sure on the exact dates) The usual situation is when a friend or relative wants to join the club, then they are proposed and seconded by full members, its their duty to escort the associate member on every visit until full membership which is approximately 7 to 8 years, then they go on a probationary members list for two years, thats the approximate time scale you will be looking at to get full membership. With yours and some other applications you were not proposed or seconded therefore its harder to find a full member willing to take out a person they do not know. I'm sure this was pointed out to you at your initial interview ? The issue about new associate members was brought up on Friday evening at the Hotpot supper meeting, as you rightly pointed out, but as of yet (Sunday) i dont know if many full members have put their names forward who are willing to escort associate members they have not proposed or seconded out on any marshes/flights, im sure you will be informed in due time. My advice would be to attend as many MBWA meetings, work parties, clay shoots etc as you can, that will be the best way to get to know people and increase your chances of finding someone willing to take you out, this season might be a difficult one, but be patient and and hopefully the committee will team you up with a full member who has some free time to take you out. It wont be sorted out over night, but things are in progress to to get the issue resolved.

  12. just a thought, if you fit "off road" tyres on your motor, and then have a bump on the road, are you still covered with your motor insurance ? could they argue the case that the tyres were not suitable for road use ?
  13. Oh right, in that case you will have to get in touch with warren or trevor to arrange for a full member to take you out. Its a bit tricky to make plans as its mostly dependant on the weather/wind/tides etc but try to make plans and hope for the best. I will let you know when we get some pinks in, but the main skeins will start to drop in about two weeks time, although some early geese are moving about now, but not many.
  14. The person that proposed you or the person that seconded your application is responsable for taking you out, thats how the system works.
  15. Where abouts is MBWF ?
  16. I had a link last season for montrose basin, if you clicked the link it took you to the live web cams, that was interesting viewing to see what was about and which direction the pinks were heading in the mornings and afternoon feeds. I will try and find it.
  17. First pinks dropped in at Martin mere today, so i have been told.
  18. Good video john. I thought the take off was good, with a half twist, but the finish was poor, i think he will loose points for that. I would score him 6 out of 10, just for effort.
