Sticking a T8 on my .223 made a huge difference in noise reduction but I prefer the looks of it unmodded. It cost about £200 for the screwthreading, mod and reproofing.

My local gunsmith said to clean any silencer just spray inside liberally with wd40 then leave upside down to drain

Cant comment on your rifle but I havent had any problems with my savage ( I think its a mk 2) a.nd the finish is better than my mates cz

Cheers for all the replies and advice, I rang the rspca yesterday and they said take it to a vets on monday, they will pick up the tab then the vet will pass it on to b.o.p specialists.

My dad found it in a field next to a track whilst corn carting, just sort of weakly flapping so brought it back gave it some food and water, now a lot livelier but holds nearside wing differently to the other one

Foam insulation for water pipes is pretty good for this sort of thing (we use it to seal the back doors on corn trailers) but I think 15mm internal is the smallest it comes in.

Ive got a shotgun cabinet bolted into the back of my landrover but I still dont like leaving anything in it in case they knick the whole vehicle.

Honda, every time. Although my mate has one of those kubota mule things and thats pretty handy, it has a tipper body which is good for carrying stuff and lamping off.
