How will brexit effect shooting in the UK
shanekiely replied to Harnser's topic in General Shooting Matters
In my opinion, the only way things will get worse after Brexit is if people let it. In WW2 rationing, British calorific intake went up and so did the average age of our citizens. Brexit will just force us to adapt, overcome and prosper, the same way we have since this country began - no amount of tariffs will dampen the intellect and will of Brits. So many good points on this thread about tariffs - it's almost like we forget there are more countries than just the EU to trade with and they need us just as much as we need them. Ans2 has give me a giggle though, literally plucking figures out the air, using his 'insider knowledge of news programmes' and resorting to saying the people voting for Brexit were of low intelligence (the majority of voters in the UK? Get real - scientists, scholars, teachers and so on must have voted for Brexit based on the numbers) Just my 2p, but I really do think things will improve because what other choice do we have. -
As the title mentions - I have some permissions with a local farmer over Tamworth way but I really need larger land to stretch my legs on! I have been shooting a long time, have £10m public liability insurance and would be happy buddying up with someone as I'm very social like that too. Any assistance is great - I can be reached here by PM instantly. Cheers Shane

Mad 1 - that sounds like the similar case to my latest one. Thought it was a 'gas gun'. Please report using the crime ref.

Well the first two were suprisingly insistant and it was a rouse about 'buying for their grandad for his birthday' (why would you buy a pair of £40 baikals for someones bday). The new one said he thought my .17hmr was a 'gas gun' and assumed you didnt need a licence. I reckon eastern european as 'gas guns' are a mostly european phenomenon and have never been well known here. My worry is they find someone stupid enough and then it causes crazy outrage when its used as a weapon. At least we all have the crime reference now so we can build a case with all pigeon watch members who have been approached. My local bobby came to see me but hadnt got much to go on.

24" from muzzle to chamber -
I have been approached by 2 separate people from different mobile numbers to sell my shotguns listed on gunwatch without a current shotgun certificate or fac. I have again been approached to sell a rifle under a similar premise of 'i didnt think you needed a licence' All use the premise of buying a shotgun for a gift to their grandfather. There is an ongoing police investigation into this matter so I can't say any more but members should be made aware to prevent anyone getting in to trouble or worse - a gun falling into the wrong hands. Should anyone be approached in this way, please report to Warwickshire police or 111 quoting case number 216/02012015 I hope this can prevent any wrong doing. S.

Ill measure and get back to you Its the standard escort magnum barrel but will let you know tomorrow -
Bought one too many by mistake. I'm keeping one but this is up for sale. Would suit someone who knows what they are doing but once put together, they are great machines. I am 3D printing my own practical shotgun cartridge holders at the moment. £195 + postage (£9) Bham.

I need a carrier (part number D2 on this parts diagram https://www.legacysports.com/uploads/images/Warranty_Cards/Escort_Instruction_Manual_GB.pdf) for my Hatsan Escort (early version without the quick load system with the two part lifter) Can anyone help? I'd even buy the whole trigger group if required. Mine has snapped and Edgar Bros are saying 6 weeks :( Shane - 079202912ONEZERO

Lost a spring and a little metal nodule that it sits in from my escort. Is anyone breaking an escort for parts? Or have any sitting around? Would even consider the whole trigger pack to save messing around.

Hi everyone I have 500 rounds of Blazer which I bought not realising this is High-Velocity stuff and my club doesnt allow it. I'll flog it for £25 which obviously works out extremely cheap. IDEALLY THOUGH... I would like to swap for 500 rounds of anything Subsonic/Normal Velocity (Somewhere around 1085 fps) Let me know guys. Cheers
