  1. I have a 535d 08 touring, it's a beast if car, best car I've ever owned. 36 av but 45 motorway miles. It's stupidlying fast but great motorway muncher. It had bwm exended warranty which I would advise as electrics on these things can be expensive. About to replace but not sure what with, maybe 11/12 535d with 313bhp mate had one and it is so quick. Get rid of run flats and buy space saver and I get tyres for around £80 a corner on 18s lasting 12-15k. Go for it, u will not be disappointed, and I hated the idea of BMW before I got it!
  2. Thanks for the info, going today to look at a few, the MK60 High Pheasant is the only one I've not tried and I understand the balance is good. I loved the feel of 725 but the lack of 32 in game is putting me off a little. If I get one I'm shooting tomorrow so will be able to test it out although they won't be so high...
  3. As the above, thinking of treating my self to a new gun. I shoot mainly high bird shoots in the season. I currently have a 325 28" sporter which I shoot quite well with but would like the extra 32" by the swing. I used to shoot MK70 20 bore 30" which i liked a lot. I understand the 725 gr 5 doesn't come in 32 as a game gun just in sporter which I can live with. Whats peoples thoughts on the matter, I would keep the 325 for rough shooting and pigeons etc?
  4. Complained to the Council direct. What an unpleasant man, I hope he's exposed for his horrible comments and forced to resign. BASC, Countryside Alliance should be asking for explanation for his comments in the media? Fieldsports TV could be asking for explanation as well. These comments are should not be tolerated in any walk of life if the person personal life is perfectly lawful regardless of the mans hobbies.

  7. We keep Alpacas at one point we had 150 of them. They do keep foxes away and sometimes kill them. Have found a dead hare in one field of mothers and young and it must of got to close to. We have supplied them to some high profile estates to stop the lambs being taken from foxes. In that year they didn't lose a single lamb to a fox.
  8. I hope BASC are contacted so they can use their new media centre.
  9. All, just so you know I heard that this subject is to be discussed on Radio 2 on Vine show today in a moment. This should make the blood boil for many!

  12. Due to the bank holiday weekend, it gave me a chance to get out stalking for an evening and the following morning. Got to my ground around 6ish but had a northerly wind which changed my start point somewhat! Stalked to the bottom of the valley and after the amount of rain we’ve had it had washed those little twig that lie around making my approach very quiet for change! All along the valley edge the deer usually lie up during the day but as the vegetation hadn’t taken hold you can stalk down the valley looking for the deer on the banks. Once at the valley bottom I’ve found a nice spot to lie up with the wind in my face waiting for the roe to pass from one side to the other. After about 20mins a does jumps the fence in front about 25m away, giving me a fright as I was almost asleep! It doesn’t even spot me on the ground and trots away up the valley side to pasture at the top. Another 20mins and I see movement coming through the fence but around 300m down. I didn’t get a chance to see if it’s a buck or doe. Thinking it could be a buck I decide to stalk up the valley side to see if it’s made it to the pasture. Once there I see the does browsing the hedge but no other deer. Throught I should wait it out....No sign so head along the valley top to where it should have come out and around the corner we walk straight into one another, off he goes like a bat out of hell. Well with this and wind being wrong I decide to head to some fields a little distance away in the truck. These fields are growing clover which the roe seem to be enjoying and the farmer would prefer they weren’t. Pulled into the gate way, got out slowly after scanning the field and seeing nothing. I had only walked 10 yard when a deer jumped up out of the grass and legged it away...thinking that there might not be much else I stalked on along the hedge line till a corner, looking around and seeing nothing. Now I could see all the fields and there appeared to be no deer. One more look to my left and two head popped up out the grass looking at me...two very nice bucks, one of which I’m sure would make a medal. Up they jump and run. The bigger of the two stops after 20m and looks back, I have the rifle up and on sticks but as I’m thinking I would rather the smaller one he’s off. Also heart was beating so hard I couldn’t keep the cross hairs on him! I’m quite pleases that I didn’t rush the shot and saved him for another day. The next morning I follow the same route as before and seeing 6 does and no bucks start to think my luck is out. Then out comes this buck from the valley bottom but I’m not quite in the right spot I stalk around some brash, had the rifle on bipod and looking to line him up when for no reason he turns and walks back over the valley edge never to be seen again... Well it time to head back to the clover fields again. Following the same route as last time I bump a deer but didn’t get a chance to catch what it was, but as I get to my corner again, I look round and there is a doe and buck lying down and it’s the smaller of two from yesterday. Resting my rifle on a fence post the buck presents a nice neck shot at 30yards but I would prefer him standing, well luck was on my side....whilst leaning on the fence post the post pushes against my mag in the rifle, ‘click’ it drops to the floor! Up jump the deer and start to run. This gives me a chance to pick it up and in again by which time the buck stops for another look at around 80 yards. I make no mistake as he presents broad side. He runs 20 more yards and disappears into the long grass. Nice big animal which will make great eating. In all over the weekend on my stalking permission I saw 9 Bucks and 8 Does which is looking good and I didn’t manage to get around half of it.
  13. SOLD Thanks to One Bang Dan!
  14. Just put a scoped rifle in and it fit's. Although it's tight, sideways they fit with ease. see attached picts. It really a shogun cabinet but would fit rifles in depending on how many you have.
  15. Leicestershire, near Melton Mowbray during the week, at weekends Glos, near Tetbury.
  16. Thats sounds right, with the game scenes etc. I looked on gun trader but couldn't see one like mine, sorry I don't have any picts as it's not with me. I was thinking of selling to the friend to fund a second hand beretta 20b for the misses as she wants one.... Do you think it would be worth more trade in against a beretta?
  17. Thanks for the comment. Thats what I thought when I bought it..I only had 3 guns then, for some reason I now have 12 odd mix of FAC and shotguns... :o
  18. I bought a Miroku some 6-8 years ago but don't use it much anymore as I give it (if you talking to her!), leant to the Misses to use it but she finds the stock to long (her short arms!). Anyway a friend of hers borrowed it the other weekend for a stimulated game day and loves it and would buy off me. The thing is I have no idea what model it is. I have the inspection certificate which states. MK-60 20G GR.1 3" It got 30inch 3/4 1/4 chokes Trouble is I've been on gun trader and MK60 GR1 don't have the same ingraving on them as mine which is games scenes. Does anyone know which model it is and what sort of value it is? It is in good condition. Thanks in advance for any help!
  19. For sale one gun cabinet with two locks, both sets of keys for each lock. 132cm (h) x 30 (w) x 22 (d) external measurements. In good condition, I have replaced it with a bigger one on account of inheriting more guns.... £80 Can be collected from either Leicestershire (during the week) or Gloucestershire (weekends) depending which is easer.
  20. A better article. - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/foodanddrink/8928988/Young-carnivores-should-be-taught-the-truth.html
  21. Thanks all for the nice comments. The other stalker I share the place with had another the following morning! The dogs have all had nice first day yesterday on the pheasants all six worked well!
  22. Well I'm not one to post often, but after my stalk this morning being such a nice morning to be out and a good result thought I would. I also remembered to take a picture for once! Left the house at first light walked across the paddocks in front of the house across the lane into the field of potatoes which is surrounded by maize. Wind not quite in the right direction but thought I would make sure nothing about in the arable fields before dropping down into the valley. Stalked along side the maize looking across the potatoes when I noticed a munty. Couldn't take a shot no safe back drop. Had to stalk along side maize until he had dropped down to the edge of a woodland. Got down onto the bi-pod and waited till he presented a safe shot. He took an age to turn side on, which then made the heart pound harder, took my breath put the cross hairs behind the shoulder and squeezed the trigger. The .243 barked and Munty jumped and ran like stink for the wood on the edge of the valley and disappeared into the wood. First thought I had missed him, but like most people I replayed the shot in my mind and knew the shot was good. Decided to leave the Munty for awhile as I didn't want him to run further into the wood as it's quite thick. Walked back to the house, 5min away and got a couple of my spaniels who I know would be helpful in the search, jumped into the truck. Headed around the lane into the valley bottom below the wood. Got the girls out and stalked through the wood and out into the field of potatoes well back from where the Munty was when I fired. Couldn't find any blood around where he was standing. Walked back to the wood where I thought the Munty had entered and saw blood on the nettles, quite a lot of blood in fact which was a relief. The girls picked up the scent from the bloody and wanted to charge into the under growth. By the amount the blood knew it wasn't going to be far. Let the girls hunt very slowly in front and one found the Munty no less than 20 yard inside the wood to great relief. In fact she was trying to retrieve it! So all round a great morning and I have a spaniels who will find shot deer which can be only be a good thing! The girls and there prize!
  23. I might just add the dealer I bought it from wasn't aware that Jackson Rifles (importer) had this new mod on sale. When it arrived they were so impressed that they are not going to bother stocking the previous model unless requested! I think the suggested retail price is £245 if that helps, I got a better deal :yp:
  24. I have just got the new A-Tech Maxim which is 80mm covering the barrel and 115m beyond. Weighs 370g. Grear bit if kit, really worth looking into, a few gun dealers a raving about them. I can say that having had it for a couple of weeks
