  9. ive been given a 1911 approx lee enfield,it came out of a bereavement house clearance and was in the loft for many years.I have no deactivation paperwork with it but it is blocked off at breach end ,i dont know if this was done by someone at home or done properly,i cant find any marking on it to prove whether its been deactivated properly.i want to sell it on as its not my thing but dont want to get grief would rather just hand it in if its not above board.any help would be appreciated.
  10. a friend of mine told me that i should sign my gun over to another license holder till mine is sorted,so i do agree with what you say(toontastic & dekers)but why would the police say ive nothing to worry about .
  11. i have spoken to them and even though my SGL runs out on the 3rd nov,as long as my application is back with them im ok .
  12. an update ,i did phone up and ask i was told that anyone who has been CRB checked is fine,so now posted just need to wait.A couple of days ago there was a note put through my front door from posty saying id recieved a letter with no stamp,so had to go sorting office next day and pay £1.50.The letter was from shotgun licensing saying that my renewal application had been passed to another department for background checks, then when this gets the ok it would be passed onto the licensing dept.So think ive just been unlucky even though ive never been in trouble with law or even had any driving offenses.
  13. i do agree that one day you will only be able to own a shotgun if you live in a field...
  14. ok that makes a lot of sense, will be ringing him tomorrow.thanks all for comments very much appreciated.
