A buck I was trying to get for couple of months doing all sorts of cock ups along the way
but got it eventually.
Probably best to watch on YouTube with subtitles on to see my comments -
Nice buck , hopefully gold
Maybe bronze...

Should be some more coming from this area, the rut is just starting.
Thanks for your comments.

This is peri-urban area with a town, motorway, but also some agricultural land in between. Plenty of deer, but also people and cars any time of day and night.
I hope this shows how important good backstop is in such areas.
The buck has been drying for a week, so won't dry out much more, weights 525g.

Had a chance to use Armasight NV (binoculars and a spotter) when pig hunting at night. I dont have a lot of experience with NV (cant use NV sights here) but found these very useful at night this time of year, when sows are off menu and only yearlings and male pigs can be shot. I could sex the pigs at closer ranges and the NV was good for spotting them.
The first vid was a peri-urban area so there was enough lights coming from a nearby town and roads to see good enough in the riflescope. Had to leave the NV and camera on the tripod and move away to get a safe shot...
In the second vid, the NV was good in the wood to figure out "what was what" and take the shot when there was enough light.
Hope you enjoy these. -
Surprised it went so far hit with that round.
Nice vid, what is the background music ?.
A
It went for about 60-70yds.

One of my outings filmed in late May. Plenty of deer about, but mainly young and nothing worth pulling trigger. I saw only one interesting "murder buck", couple of weeks before, but never managed to get the shot. I went to check the same area again and this time had more luck.Blaser R8 Professional Success in .308 Win and 185gr Lapua Mega ammo.

This is a doe kid I got in January on the rape field (season here ends early, so it was the last one for me). It was pretty windy, but I got out anyway. I thought I could still find some deer in the sheltered corner of the field. I wanted to get to the high seat, but deer were coming out already so I stayed at the edge of the field and some bushes behind me. The deer were coming nicely my way and all I had to do was to wait a bit and pull the trigger.
I had rifle on sticks, so pushed the trigger forward setting it... waited for the kid to pause broadside and pulled the trigger... and nothing. Safety was still on...Just another one of my cock ups
They heard the click and were about to run, but due to wind stayed put for a little longer and I eventually managed to get the safety off and got the one I wanted... -

I can't really remember when was the last time I celebrated New Year's Eve, I am usually in bed well before midnight... and out stalking on the 1st!It was the same this year. Out hunting 1st January 2015 morning. The weather was bad, only little bit of snow left, windy and wet. I went through the forest checking more sheltered placed, and found a small group of red deer feeding on the edge of the mature trees and a clear fell.

Excellent video - can I ask where you get the atmospheric music from? Are there free resources online somewhere?
Thanks for uploading.
I am affraid it is not available online anywhere apart from my videos, as it is my own composition... I am glad you like it

I love shooting in the snow, but should have dressed up warm. I usually stalk and only had a fleece on, it is generally enough when moving about, but not sitting in a seat. Thanks for all the comments.
