  1. funny just had one of these arrive today off ebay :good:

think mine is an english oak camo (?) when i opened it out i thought **** no way can i hide behind this, but i reckon itll be ok; as a back up ive got a sheet of black nylon net to hang behind it, if it is too light. both nets fit in a small poncho bag on my cartridge bag, so defo happy - one of my old nets fills a royal mail post sack to the brim :hmm:

  2. simple answer (without getting into the size of insurance pools, etc) is theres far more of a risk to something happening your parcel than there is your house, thats why its dearer. plus theyre money grabbing.... :good:

  3. exactly, i bought a new stock and i dont know how many upgrades for my 10/22 before id even applied to the cops for the gun! after years of tinkering and playing about the only non standard things i have in it are an auto bolt release, a trigger kit (only a few extra washers really, cost $20 from usa) and a plastic bolt buffer instead of a metal one (quieter) - i dread to think of the amount of money i wasted on kit i didnt need for it :D

so seriousley, use it as standard for a couple of months, then sit down and think about things you dont like about it, then how you could improve them, you could be surprised :good:

  4. first bit of advice is use the gun non stop for 2 months before sitting down and deciding what you would like to improve, eg trigger, etc. then look into it, other wise youll end up spending hundreds (if youre lucky...) on extra's you dont really need for them - yes speaking from experience here :good::lol:

  5. didnt book any time off (totally forgot) though im in the same boat as monkey boots, got about a mile or 2 of river to shoot this year. it would also explain why i saw a couple of wooden duck decoys floating about in the river last week, one of the neighours must be trying to attract them in for me, isnt that nice of him :good::yes::good:

  6. we should have a vote about an open season on rottys and pitbulls and a further disscusion on what caliber to use

my moneys on buckshot, as thats what i bought when i got my rotties, just incase :good: never needed it though; as for open season, sure why not! though one of the first things youd want to buy is as much kevlar as possible, as i doubt tweed would be much use against what id be throwing in your direction.... :good:

anyway, glad to see the threads degenerated into the usual "i know better than you because i can shout longer" with the usual members posting - kdubya is there ANY type of animal out there you wouldnt like to see shot/strangled/killed? first cats, now rottweilers, next youll be going on about pouring baking soda into fishtanks... :hmm:

put the dogs down and shoot the owners, enough said

  7. hi frend said it was about 150 yards i dont know how far is that in feet :hmm:

    ruger 10/22

the circle is the size of a 5p piece and you got that sort of group at 150 yards on a ruger 10/22 with subs?? nice one, anyone who complains about that sort of grouping is a tool :good: :good:

ps theres f all wrong with 10/22's, as that grouping proves ;)

  8. That's only half the definition. Have a look at the dictionary definition: A bonus is:

    1. something given or paid over and above what is due.

    2. a sum of money granted, given or awarded to an employee in addition to regular pay, usually in appreciation for work done, length of service, results, achievements etc

The theme appears to be that a "bonus" is for stuff that is over and above, based on results and achievements etc. Indeed, you are half way there in that it should be an element of pay that is variable rather than fixed and is based upon <continuing on> results and achievements.

Problem is, anyone in RBS now claims that their department on its own bucked the trend at RBS and made a mint. No one can find anyone at RBS who admits either being in the same department, building or County as those at RBS who wrecked the economy almost single handed :good:

not classed that way in our place, ive been told on (too) many occasions that im on a low pay level because i have to rely on my bonus (:hmm:) to make my pay up to an acceptable level - ie a level i can afford to live on. cant wait til they try the same line this november... :good:

  9. Just spent the last 4 days in the woods with a few other blokes, living rough in the woods eating only what we have hunted / fished, no women, no kids ...bliss.

two of my mates are trying to convince me to do the same, though i dont think i could carry 4 days worth of drink in a ruck sack :good:

did something very manly this morning, i went to work :hmm:

  10. thanks for the replies. im not worried about it holding value over the years tbh, i like s/s' but its got nothing to do with the image that goes with them or making money from them, i like them due to their simplicity. the fact this one has a multi choke with 3" chamber, single trigger and semi pistol grip stock is what attracted me to it :/ though if the build quality on them isnt that great i reckon ill be staying well clear, cheers :cry1:

  11. its quite strange at first dazza but dont worry about it, youll love it. you dont feel turbulance, etc, as much in them as you do in a plane. just count yourself lucky its not an raf pilot putting a puma through its paces with you holding on for dear life in the jump seat :cry1::/

was going to change one of the mossbergs last xmas but bought an hmr instead  but ive been saving up since then, and ive been looking at a few different guns lately, benelli m3, mossberg 935, etc, but this week ive found this yildiz - 3" chambers, single trigger, multi choke barrels, semi pistol grip stock.... anyone used/owned them before? if so what do you think of them?

  13. 4 1/2 months, and still nothing, and it'll be a few months yet

my first FAC, supposedly 4 month wait, took 9 months

substitution of .22lr for another .22lr, supposedly 4 weeks, took 14 weeks

    however

adding 17hmr, supposedly take 3 months plus, took 5 weeks

sometimes its not who you know, but how many mp's/mla's you complain to, mentioning human rights, discrimination, police/government secret agenda's, etc....

  14. you get a pizza truck  lucky!!

I only get this ole white landrover with flashing lights and angry men with guns. They say they want in, but not before they tell me the secret password!!!

aye but see thats only cos ur still waiting on ur FAC ya clampit, once ya get it they dont even ask the secret password, they just send in the tank with cs gas like in WACO
