  1. :good: is this why im banned from 2 well known sites or is is because i spoke up and said what was on my mind ??

    bob.

neither, youre just a pain in the **** :D

    :good::lol::D just messing mate :D

hmm so we could be being monitored right now  have to say without billy's list im sure our general posts on here would set off a few triggers - firearm, gun, shotgun, rifle, explode, sniper, trap, choke, kill, shoot, shot, and hide, as a few examples, would probably set off some alarm bells somewhere :D

  2. bin out a couple of times this week but not massive numbers, monday didnt get any so went after rabbits with the shotgun, on wednesday i went with the intention of going after rabbits so took the 22lr, ended up decoying pigeons and crows on a stubble field :good:

we didnt set up til after 5pm, and didnt get much (sharing 2 shotguns between 3 of us), maybe about 20ish pigeons and crows, though as a bonus i got bored and went for a walk with the 22 and ended up bagging a fox

  3. better not let the odd vicar have a cat then eh? what a stupid analogy, here we are a forum of supposed like minded people who would happily go out and shoot bambi's mam thumpers mother and brer fox's mates never mind those pesky pigeon

yet someone simply puts a cat in a bin and they are likened to a paedophile, jeez the mind boggles.

 its quite simple really kdubya. i doubt any of us (well, i shudder to think anyone does) go out of our way to cause unnecessary cruelty and suffering to an animal when we shoot something. now, i own a cat, yet have got rid of feral cats in the past when needed. i own dogs, yet i have previousley loaded up the buckshot and sighted in on dogs attacking sheep. and i once had a polite conversation with a young lad i saw trying to kick a pigeon to death in a town centre, even though later today im heading out with the intention of blasting as many of them as possible.

we may be supposedly like minded people, but dumping a cat in a wheelie bin to die of starvation (in my mind) ranks up there with trying to kill a fox at 80 yards by shooting it in the gut with a 12ft/lb air rifle - yeah the wound might kill it eventually, but you need your ******* head examined if you think its an acceptable practice!! :good:

  4. :good: My son has just been beaten up by a gang of local kids!! (4.45pm) called the plod at 5pm, and they told me "we will be there in 20 mins". I left the house at 7.30pm to go to work, and nobody had arrived. Just had a phone call from some daft bint to tell me that as its not important, they cant get out to me until tomorrow at some point. My poor lad is sat there in bits. As we all know what the world is like, i dont let him roam the streets like some parents do, and have only let him go out with his friends since the start of this year. Worried that something might happen to him, i do my best to make sure he is safe. He didnt even fight back, as ive always told him that he must not, never fight, as its very wrong. Part of me wants to tell him to him to go and kick the little **** in the pants, but this aint the answer. At 11 years old, he has never given me trouble once, ever! yet these little ****s can burn him with cig ends and kick him to the floor. :good::good: As for the plod, even i am starting to loose faith in their abilities these days.

im really sorry to hear what happened mm, hope he's ok. personally i disagree with the above, i was always brought up being told that you never start a fight but you sure as hell finish it, and if theres any more than 4 of them roll your sleeves up  as much as i hate to say it id rather give someone a caning for starting on me, and so lose my guns and go through a load of **** for it than take a beating because ill get into trouble for defending myself from these type of "poor innocent misunderstood underpriviliged members of our society" aka scum bags :/

ps as for taking him to karate lessons, etc, is karate not classed as an offensive wepon or something equally daft, so if he used it to defend himself could he not be done for it?!

  5. Although i like cats i did think it was funny, imagine the bin man opening up the lid the next day to be met with fur, fang and claws.

would we think it so funny if it were a bunch of chavs putting the old lady in the weelie bin though???

:) and if she was in a wheelchair id wet myself :P but as soon as id changed my trousers id be one of the first looking to hunt the scum down for doing it ;)

  6. the only downside I can see, is its a small circle of beam, so when set up on your rifle, it will shine on quarry at a set distance, say 60yds, now what happens when aiming at target say 85yds away, surely the smaller beam wont allow the shot, if that makes sense :good:

the beams adjustable, you can widen it out for scanning and narrow it in to illuminate the rabbit/fox, etc

  7. Good luck mate with the drugs, but have to ask do you really won't to stop or just thinking i should or thinking if i do stop i can buy such and such, i can tell it won't work, get it in to your head you don't need or even want to smoke and you will!! I've stopped and have yanked after a smoke now and again but it;s just a silly whim!!

na i do want to stop, im fed up with the yearly chest infections and puffing and wheezing all the time, not to mention how my chest feels after a night drinking. the problem is i enjoy a smoke and so kept putting it off, just that conversation the other night finally made it sink in :good:

  8. thanks yp, now youve got me terrified of going to sleep!???:)

just messing, glad they worked for you. im just back from a bit of shooting, only had one when i was out and didnt even finish it, they dont taste right  ill post more when i get another few days over me, see how its going.

ps just back from a bit of shooting, we hardly needed the lamps its that bright out there, got a few rabbits with the shotguns. didnt see any pink elephants or big cats, though i did have a run in with a black rabbit that scared the **** outta me by jumping out at my feet :good::)

  9. thanks everyone

i tried the gum and stuff in the past and it didnt really work for me, so decided im going to try these. not too bad so far, i usually smoke like a train but took the first tablet a few hours ago and im surprised cos im noticing a difference already; i didnt smoke for a couple of hours til one of my mates arrived in and lit up (thats gonna be stopping...), and just took the dogs for a walk there and when i got home i realised i hadnt had a smoke, i usually smoke 2 or 3 when im out with them ??? i wasnt going to say anything about it til i got a couple of weeks over me, but the doc worried me a bit earlier by asking if id ever suffered from depression, as apparantly these can trigger it - thankfully ive never suffered from it but its a bit worrying :good:

dancake i was in the same situation, been talking about quitting for months. im the first to admit i enjoy a smoke, but it was only last week when i was pricing guns online that it finally sunk in. was looking at one that cost £1500 and complaining about the price til my mate pointed out that i spend more than that each year on cigs  i dont know if its going to work or not, but we'll see :D

as for pink elephants and big cats, im about to head out lamping, so ill take a few buckshot and the digital camera with me just in case ;):) :)

  10. went to see the doctor today and got a course of champix tablets to quit smoking, only starting taking them this afternoon so fingers crossed

anyone else used them? ive heard lots of scare stories of side effects, though i reckon i can ut up with them for a month or two if it makes me quit
