  1. as above....i have cobra merlin gen 1 with laser and find it difficult to estimate ranges when stalking...much easier and quicker with lamp if there not lamp shy
  2. is this the same one you advertised in may this year that you bought last summer
  3. thanks for the comments....was trying to get the look of a bird just been startled and on the rise as the legs and feet are still down....the tail feathers will close up a little in the drying process....not done a pigeon yet glyn but got some in the freezer ready mate
  4. i stuffed this bird sunday let me know what you think
  5. do we have any of that anymore
  6. i read on here not so long back that a bloke took his lad to see farther christmas at a bradford shopping centre but couldn't find him, when he asked where he was he was told that he wasn't comming anymore as the council have stopped it so as not to cause offence to the MUSLIM community.....this country in my opinion is losing its way because it is too afraid to stand up for itself.....been said loads of times but when is enough enough....muslim will no doubt put christianity a minority religion and we will all be dancing to theire tune...which will be a very sad day indeed.....
  7. O/U would be more usefull i think and would open up a few more fields for me to shoot on as there are horses and sheep in the next fields and have kept away from them as not to upset the farmer
  8. thinking of getting a 20g hushpower....anyone had any experience with them PRO'S N CONS
  9. if the farmer and keeper don't get on SHOOT AWAY MY FRIEND your not going to lose anything least of all the keepers friendship and if there goin in the pot FILL YOUR BOOTS :yp:
  10. your statement is a little misleading you say in one breath.....Please no posts saying its not the dogs fault....but then in another.....you blame the owner....but then you say you hate the breed....so what is it that you hate about the breed
  11. jeeeezus mate his dog was on a lead yours were not .....its your fault....not every dog is as soppy as a lab...count yourself lucky it didn't do any damage...usually a dog is on a lead for a reason...either your a dosey bloke or your stubben and think its alright for your dog to do what it wants :look:
  12. as i said OWNERS fault ....either failing to train his dog propperly(should practice his recall more) or not being aware of his surroundings.....
  13. always the owners in my opinion matey...most ov um don't have a clue how to read theire dogs
  14. top and bottom of it is there is a tool for every job but there are also many other tools that will do that job......and his tool did the job we all use a shotgun to shoot pigeons as this is the tool to use but we all know we don't always place the shot correctly hence the bird might get winged.....which hasn't been killed cleanly hence the bird is suffering....and how many have winged a bird and can't retreive it to kill it by either falling into brambles or onto other land we don't have access to....the guy killed the hare cleanly so JOBS A GUD UN
  15. yes the variables are endless but a headshot at that range isn't a problem unles you misplace the pellet but that can happen with any firearm ...you miss the target you wound the animal
  16. look at it from onother perspective....guy walks into a park with his dog on a lead under control....two other dogs won't listen to theire owner shouting them back so the guy stands still but the owner of the dogs doesn't have control of his dogs....what can he do and further more what would you have wanted him to do
  17. looks well tasty....wish i was at yours for dinner
  18. you can eat it mate ...but why bother ...get some nice ones
  19. here we go again....hope this helps using a 12ft air rifle at 25 yards will have an impact of 462fps giving a wound channel depth of 3.67 inch at 30 yards will have an impact of 453fps giving a wound channel depth of 3.59 inch at 40 yards will have an impact of 434fps giving a wound channel depth of 3.44 inch this is taking he was using 20 grain pellets in .22.now we know he could have identified his quarry better but lets be honest what else looks like rabbits or hare...in my opinion this lad has done nothing wrong and privided he was happy in taking the shot he would have had ample power in dropping the hare unless some one out there knows of hares with heads bigger than 7 inch from eye to eye think it is about time people stopped jumping on theire high horses all the time and offered encouragement instead of slating people.....after all were all learning all the time
  20. bin thinking about this......when i go shooting i take my air rifle with me aswell and stay out lamping so have left the shotgun in the back of the landy....just come back from the gun shop and he's told me not to leave it unattended at all even if it's in a safe as if the landy got nicked i'd lose my licence and we don't want that
  21. what do you guys use to secure your guns in your vehicle if you leave it unattended
