  1. Upload Chairgun2 its a good ballistics program. It can help with finding your pellet path with power and weight. Its an easy program to use and is quite useful and suprsing! After finding your results try it on a range and its an eye opener. Carbon

  4. Camo head scrim is good. Cut it to length and elastic band it on, make it a bit baggy. Cheep and good. Here is an example Carbon
  5. This is probably what you were looking at. I had one about a month ago and its insides stunk. Horrid!!! Carbon

  11. Webley Vulcan Mark 3. Plinking with my brother and dad in our garden. Nice memories. I would have loved to have still had that rifle. But me and my brother started stalking each other with legs shots only and GAT pistols. Well my dad made sure they all went. Happy days though! Carbon
  12. That came out wrong, I really ment a good personality/persona when speaking to the land owners. Doh!
  13. I think I would I have been lucky with a recomendation and an 'I can do that'. But, I have a permission I have my eye on with loads of bunnys. Its gonna be a cold call and I have a secret weapon. In the next two weeks I will approach the land owner with my cards. If it works or not I will inform you all, I think it will. Gotta be positive, have a decent color printer, a folder and personality. Fingers crossed. Carbon
  14. Hi, I have shot springers for a while now, targets and plinking. I had a look at the rat shooting vids on U Tube mainly from Snypercat and snipertaffy? Then I wanted to go into night shooting so went the way of IR so bought a Yukon unit. I started shooting rats at my work permissions and a couple of tractor drivers started telling me about masses of rats where they take our waste. So I asked them to tell the owner that I will hit the rats for him. At the time I bought two PCP's an AAS410 and a BSA Ultra. The Ultra was shifting rats like no tomorrow. They spoke to the farmer and gave me his number after telling him about me. He wanted rats rid so come along and have a go with instructions. I was luck in that there is a Pheasant shoot on the property. The owner spoke to the man running the shoot who is actually a man who's company I use for Stainless fabrications, he asked about me and the word was good. I then spoke to the phesant shooters and assured them that I was good and no Phesants would be done. So I blatted loads of rats, one night I was driving home on the private farm roads and a bloke stopped me in a tractor - who are you what you doing here etc.. So I was nice and polite explained all. Oh thats my brother, I have some rat problems, come have a look. So that was another barn and immediate surrounding area. Well I did a good job for him as well, then he says - my asparagus field is being attacted by rabbits fancy a go? Yes in deed was the response so an 18 acres field opened up with another 4 acres of entry paddock. He caught me at 10:30 carrying a head shot rabbit in a pan flat field pitch black and was quite happy. After a few weeks and many bunnies/rats. He asks how do you fancy ferrals in grain barns? Sure I will have a good go at them and wiped a lot out one evening - A LOT!!!The Phesant shoot owner allowed me to shoot penns and feeders for rats (off season). So now I have almost an open license on 600acres for small vermin. I report to them all before going and report all I see and shoot. My other shoot I was chatting to a chap in a shop and he mentioned he owned an orchard. I asked if he had any barns? No why do you ask? I shoot rats with Infra red gear. Well he states I have a rabbit problem on an orchard fancy a go? Not half, so 18 acres of new apple plantation with hundreds of rabbits. Now I have not got time for everything so bought in a friend to help on the orchard with the owners permission. Its great, even if nothing shows itself I have the day and night shooting of a huge area, a pleasure to wander around. My permission owners are the tops, bloody nice guys. As for shooting with the vid on the scope I do it but dont like to. I am not as accurate with the vid on but will post in the future some perfect misses and some great kills. Cheers Carbon
  15. Thanks guys. It was double bagged and binned. Jeez it stunk. I dont want to smell that again. HORRID! Carbon
  16. I binned it as soon as I saw this sack on its leg. Nothing will be eating this bunny.
  17. Hi all, Can you help me with this. I shot what looked like a decent large rabbit. Its fur was covered in what I thought was grass seed close to the skin. I started gutting it and between its skin and the meat there was a milky nasty smelling fluid, there was a lot of this fluid! I cut through to the gut and opened her up and a lot of foul - FOUL smelling gas started escaping. Guts out then I removed the fur, head and feet off. Split the body into smaller parts ready for water and salt but still that smell was there - vomit and acid is best to describe it. I then noticed this sack attatched to its rear leg. It was transparent and contained many of those grass looking seeds I had noticed on its fur. Well now with the smell and this I have been sick but. What is it? Anyone help Here is the sack
  18. I did not have a go because I am an air gunner at sub 12 foot pounds. A wonderful animal like this needs a higher power wepon to finish it. I wont ever take a shot at anything I believe wont be downed first shot. A fox is NOT a target for an air rifle at my power level. BUT... Young master fox needs to hide well as I have to report to the permission owner all I see. The Phesant shooters are the chaps that can deal with Foxy. Which they probably have done by now. Carbon
  19. Hi all, I have ruined my existing poxy cheep lamp and want a replacement. IR night vision is my main night hunting weapon but like a lamp on the side for when I remove the IR and have a quick trot around when leaving permissions. I have seen the GL2 used by a fellow hunter and it really kicks out some light. I can get a stingray for £40 delivered but whats the stingray like? Anyone got one and how do they find it? Do you use filters and if so which colour? For bunnies. Thanks Carbon
  20. So the permission owner is happy with my work so has allowed me to make an indoor'ish range to practice on. Here is the footage; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTN6xZwDRSY You have to bare in mind that at night I go Full on IR night shooting so set myself up for 20m Zero. I just walk up to rabbits slowly, they have no idea about what is going to happen at all. They dont even hear the rifle as it has a supurb silencer. Carbon
  21. Driving around one of my permissions. I had seen the cub earlier and was ready for some filming. Out the little minx came and here it is. Hope you like it I put it on U tube in high def'ish. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uOw2A5WCcs Carbon
  22. Hi all, My permission owner is happy with my rat, rabbit and pigeon removal but has another problem. Moles in his 1/2 acre grass garden. He has asked if I can help but I really dont know what to do to remove them. Can anyone help me with basic dispatch methods please. And I wont be shooting into the ground with a shottie My dad has used the traps set into tunnels but do they need baiting? Thanks Carbon
  23. I had a meeting today at a site riddled with crows. The buffet that was left after all the staff had left I put out on some open ground and waited at a good 150 m with a spotting scope to watch. 10 minutes passed before a magpie claimed the first bit of scrap. Crows were all around watching, a few brave ones came to look but jumped around the food pile, spooking themselves then withdrawing back a few meters before closing in. Must have been 15 minutes with several Magpies being chased by the faster crows for the food they had taken before the first crow took some scrap. Still most of the crows were very cautious of the food pile, taking bits that fallen away from the pile when dropped by other birds. Some of the crow fights I watched were chilling. They would not take the food them selves but were sure nothing else would! Amazing to watch for 25 minutes. Very cautious birds and they did not have a go at the food scrap until a few Magpies had had a go first. Will carry my Vid in the car for the next time. Carbon
