  1. Daylight I close my left eye. IR night shooting, as its totaly dark I leave my left eye open but due to the illumination on the right eye close this when off scope. I find my right eye in the illumination gets 'tired'? Walking between areas in starlight my right eye is open and recovers. But then I do 5 hours solid IR shooting per week on average, the scope really flares into the eye when dark. Carbon
  2. AA S410 carbine accurate. Ha! prove it post some pictures! Urra, hold on I have one? Yes thats the one I use to shoot rabbits again and again. Not the same rabbit, as the first shot does the bissnessss! Carbon
  3. After freezing rabbit meat once removed from the body after boiling for 2.5 hours. How long will the meat last in the freezer? I have some that went into the freezer a week ago and want it tomorrow with some indian sauce. Will it be OK and what is an acceptable time before it goes off? Carbon
  4. I would have done an Irish Jig. Whilst running and hitting it with my tiger tails loaf! Carbon
  5. Longbow .22 with JSR 3-9x40 IR Parralax adj. Twin bolt mounts. Camo stock. Very accurate with a good silencer and rifle bag. Hey...? I have one for sale HINT HINT Carbon
  6. I race cycles MTB and road. My bikes are full carbon frames and I aparantly go down hills like a rocket. Fall off sometimes! Carbonrocket
  7. Hello all, Someone may be able to help me on this. With an video file converted to AVI, windows Movie Maker reports a codec conversion file fault and will not import. Anyone know of a cheap Video editing program where I can chop bits I dont want then import other vid clips and save as a DVD/U tube file? Thanks Carbon
  8. Cheaky monkey. My permission owner caught me on sight yesterday and shook my hand. He said thanks for your work, I have noticed less rats around the cattle, carry on your doing a good job. That was real nice from the premission owner. Kennym bring it on, shoot one bigger. I know as you have looked at this post you have some interest. They are not my friends,,,, just passing ships in the night. OK, Rats that cause problems... Kill them, Kill them all. I personally cant rid this permission but I will try my best. And when I finish the last rat I will wear my rat hat!!! Carbon
  9. Seems like no one else shoots rats? Here is last night. 20+ rats dead. Video'd some of it but was not happy with the Night Cam so after a while went back to the Yukon. Will post the Vid as soon as I edit out my boring look at trees and ground stuff! (and blatent misses!!!). I went back to the Rat Citadel, shot loads and while picking up bodies the rats came out to see me. When I post the vid of the rat branch you WILL understand what a rat problem is. I now claim as no one else measures/streatches rats, 18 1/4 inches. Un-official PW record. Moderators can you make this the official target please? Thanks Carbon
  10. I como'd the stock and silencer on my longbow. As for the shooting. Its really really good. Apparently mine is not a UK made unit, but its still an excellent close grouping quality rifle. The blu'ing is excellent, the parts all snap together and dont move. Several hundred rats and dozens of pigeons (at elevation and distance) bring me to the thought that the Longbow is a good rifle. Even if some may think as its not a UK rifle it must be not so good. Oh well! Carbon
  11. I will be boiling my latest rabbit at exactly 16:03. I will try this later. I showed my boy (9) the gutted body and it did not phase him at all he is looking forward to having some. Carbon
  12. I am 39. Live life on the edge. Otherwise you are just taking up too much space! Carbon
  13. Just imagine it Picture of George Senior teaching young George Junior the correct Rat Streatching method. Old Man George, All UK Champion Rat Streatcher. Carbon
  14. Holly, Its not this one is it? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=018 This would fit my strap on, Ooo ERR! Carbon
  15. the sony camera ring expands up using the following. 25mm-37mm 37mm-46mm 46mm-52 mm I had to do this as I needed clearance for the 8cm DVD housing. Then an Olympus extension tube 52mm. The scope is about 50mm so I cut a gasket to wrap around the scope. With no overlap of the gasket. Then PVC black electricians tape nice and tight around thge gasket. The tape builds up the diameter until the 52 mm tube is a damn hard twist on fit to the body. The camera simply screws onto the 25mm adaptor ring. It is very stable and will not fall off. It is not heavy as its an Ultra multi, the centre of gravity is very close to your body. Carbon
  16. I have the Jack Pyke Ghille suit which is very good but a word or warning!!! My camo net for hides I decided to wash, put it out on the lawn to dry and now I cant fnd it! Carbon
  17. Excellent, were any shots fired in this hunt? Those dogs are really the muts nuts! Did the dog catch the bird? That picture of one of the dogs with its head in a hole and its legs up in the air, CLASS! Great dogs Great pictures, I want a dog and a ferret but my wife she say no. Carbon
  18. Heres the pictures of the fitting tomorrow I will go out ratting and get some vid of the results but.. Had a look around my garden this night and its no way as good as my Yukon adaptor for clarity but still we shall see. Will need to sort out manual focus as the sony hunts around looking at all sorts to focus on. It takes 3 seconds to settle, the ******! Carbon
  19. Hello all, I use IR night vision but have the question someone may answer. I have a powerful torch I can fit to my rifle, if I put an IR filter on it, will it help with the IR illumination? Or should I go for an IR emitter? Which is better? Carbon
  20. Cheeky ******! Carbon. PS its not true Mine had one hot wash and I dont go singing 'Camp down races' when I shoot!
  21. I am sooo jealous of you guys with full FAC but I have to temper this with my ratting. If I go into any barn with sub 12 foot pounds I can see all and judge easily, if I was to miss the pellet wont rip a hole in the barn or equipment. I WILL NOT EVER take a shot if livestock is in the background. I will be soon trying for an air rifle FAC, but still have a lot of experience to gain even with many many hours ratting and rabbiting under my belt. All you hunters that go out and shoot 100m plus with wind and hit your target, my hat goes off to you. Carbon
  22. Put this up as many are asking how its done. Cant put any vids of what it looks like through the optics as my camera is a bit poop! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d27bmajKFI4 Be as critical as you feel. Carbon
  23. I see the IR filters available but have no experience are ther really good? No visible light just IR? Carbon
  24. For some cheap clothing go on Ebay and get an NBC suit, less than £8 inc postage. Put it through a washing machine first though. Get some decent boots and socks or wellies and decent socks. Cold feet are a killer for me. Carbon
  25. Longest rat in these pictures was only 16.5 inches. The one with the biggest body was missing a large part of its tail so not a longest rat picture. The one that was wasted was shot twice as even with rats, if it still wiggles I will not EVER let a creature suffer, so it had another head shot and blead out. I shoot then move on in the permision but find that some rats when I collect bodies are missing 45 mins later. Something likes them. I saw one rat that was huge, in a penn but couldent get a shot to it. I had? another that really was cat size with 3 shots, one in the neck and two in the body it still crawled off fast. Must be dead after that! Yes it was a rat!!!!! These rats pictured I class as normal, but there are some monsters out there. This permission has not been ratted for 2 years. Carbon
