  1. Went to log on earlier, there was a loud crack and some smoke. My PC is now dead! Why do these things always happen when you are just about to buy something you want. Had put a few hundered quid away to buy verious decoying equipment which I was looking forward to getting. I am now going to have to buy a new PC. Gutted! SS
  2. I was thinking of using 36 gram BB's for foxes but was wondering it they are ok for my guns? Chamber proof? The carts are Express 70mm I have a AYA S/B/S which is 70mm chamber 900KG I assume this is 900KG CM2 and a Nikko O/U also 70mm and 3 1/4 ton per square inch. Any help would be appreciated. SS
  3. Yeah I always make sure they are hidden and never on display.
  4. I was walking the fields today and couldn't believe the amount of spent cartridges laying around. This is something that really annoys me, how hard is it to just pick them up?? I always take mine home then throw them in the bin. I'm not really sure what else to do with them. I would put them in the recycling bin but I don't know what problems this may cause when someone has to sort them the other end. They may think there are some live ones and that could cause all sorts of problems!! Can you still buy paper/card cartridges? Just to add to this I know the carts will end up in land fill which is not good, but at least all the rubbish is together and not on farm land. SS
  5. Cheers Toombsy thats good to know. It is purley a skeet gun (fixed choke both barrels) Will give it a go when i next get the chance. SS
  6. Yeah the topic of chokes can go on for ages. I love the AYA S/B/S, nice and light and since getting it have found my shooting is much better. I just thought the Nikko may be good over decoys. SS
  7. I have Nikko O/U 5000 skeet. I was thinking of using this for close decoys as it should give a good spread for close birds. I normally walk the fields with my AYA S/B/S which is 1/2 and full choke but thought the Nikko may be good for decoys. Just wanted your opinions on this. SS
  8. I always use BBBB. Bum, Belly, Beak, Bang. So as you swing through you see the bum then the belly then the beak then BANG! You must keep the gun moving don't stop at the beak this will give u a 'string' of shot. This is just a quick and easy way of doing it. As for cartridges most people tend to have a fav. I use Kent velocity pigeon 28g 6 in my S/B/S (lightweight gun) as it gives a bit less kick then a 32g. SS
  9. As said before your graphics card will need to have dual outputs. You can download a program called Ultramon which will allow you to set the monitors up as you see fit. SS
  10. If you enjoyed yourselves then you had a good day! I have not had much luck this last week in Kent. Got to the field with great expectations but nothing! SS
  11. It is difficult but I would agree with Chop. BBBB Bum, Belly, Beak, Bang! As you swing through and you see the bird you see the bum then the belly then the beak and then BANG! Very important keep the gun moving don't stop as you see the beak. This will give you a 'string' of shot. Most people stop at the beak you MUST keep the gun moving. I think this is a little easier to grasp then a 'inch' lead!! Hope this works for you. SS
  12. Lol well not the best name and no brownies intended but fair one. You shot me down!!
  13. Have to agree with you on that. Great forum SS
  14. Sounds good is it stainless steel or just steel? SS
  15. I wouldn't know about that Marcus. I would imagine the only difference would be with the chokes. I don't want to get involved with chokes and what you should use and what you shouldn't. To be honest give it a try if firing the bottom first then the top works for you then do that. I think your swing and where you are hitting are more important then chokes. A lot of the time when you start to think to much you miss it should be a natural thing. SS
  16. Well I have been clay shooting a few times but I am a game shooter to be honest. I will no doubt be corrected but I would imagine it would depend on the chokes of your gun. If for example you have a close target and then a high one. I would use the more open choke for the close target then the tighter for the higher shot. If I am wrong on this please correct me. SS
  17. I had a Staff some years ago. Great dog, and as a general rule good with kids. The truth is any dog can turn you can NEVER leave them alone with kids. SS
  18. Thanks Clayman much appreciated.
  19. Hi all, just joined the forum and am in need off some help on the choke of my shotgun. I have a 12G AYA S/B/S 28 inch barrels. Stamped on the barrels are 18.5 and then further down 18.3 The stamped choke size is 17.9 on the right barrel and 17.3 on the left. Would this be a half and full choke? Any help would be appreciated. ****shot
