Had a good couple of hours on a field which have had chicken muck spread on it. 28 woodpigeons,4 feral pigeons and one crow. My shooting was rubbish I was shooting a ratio of 4 to 1.

Just cartridges and sportsman in Newport have these in 28 gauge. I used the 28 gram load in my 28 gauge and they were nice to shoot. I only used them on clays as it was a new gun I was using and just wanted to try the gun out.

Hi I use a 12bore and a 28 bore for pigeon and have never felt at any disadvantage using a 28 on pigeons over decoys. The only problem is the cost of cartridges. I my self do not worry at is moment as I have been getting a god price for my pigeons and it is Covering my cost on cartridges. The 28 is a sweet gauge to use on pigeons and I love it.

Hi I hope you all had a good Christmas. I am looking for a set of flocked shell pigeon decoys and was wondering what you guys would recommend as I have some cheap ones I have had for about Three years and they are cracking and losing the flock coating. I want a good shell decoy which will last and with a good flock coating. Any ideas Thanks Olddogfox

Rottweil and Beretta and I think the lincoln are all true 28 gauge actions. I am usng the 28 gauge Benelli and love the 28 gauge. Will be looking for a true 28 gauge action in o/u myself one day in the near future. olddogfox

Hi I had a good day with a friend yesterday. We had 96 pigeons/ 1 feral pigeon and four crows on barley stubble. The best think about this is that we shot them using 28 gauge shotguns. I used a Benelli 28 and my friend used a Perazzi in 28. I have to say that I am impressed by the 28 on pigeons over decoys. I have not had this gun long ( two weeks)and I have shot the best part of 200 pigeons with it and I have never felt that I need more gun. Do any one else ever use a 28 gauge for pigeons. olddogfox

This Rifle is a true single shot action and it is not screw cut. I am shooting 52 amax bullets out of it and it likes them with varget powder at around 3300 fps with half inch groups. I also have redding comp reloading dies in this calibre which I will sell with the rifle if you what the gun. Thanks Olddogfox

They are the same importers as Benelli so they only import the more expensive gun which is the Benelli. The Franchi is about 4-500 pounds cheaper when you compare what they cost in the states.

Hi Would any body know where I can pick up a 28 gauge franchi 48AL in this country or Europe i.e Germany /Belgium or France. It is not worth going through the importers as they also import Benelli and Beretta and they want to sell the new Benelli 28 Gauge which is very nice but also very expensive. I have a craving for the Franchi 28 gauge which I am starting to dream about . Thanks Dogfox

Me and my mate had to wait about 12 months to have vermin added. The FAO said that I should have had clay shooting from the beginning when I asked. The five shot is very handy for pigeon shooting and a higher capacity is great when you are shooting rabbits off the truck. I have shot 3 for 3 loads of time and had 3 for 4 aswell so the FAC is worth it.
