  1. Thanks for the help guys! I do plan on joining BASC , but i dont get paid until next week so I am going to have to wait until then
  2. Hi guys, I have my interview for my application on friday I was wondering is it worth showing my certificate for attending the BASC Young Shots Introductory Day? Also what sort of questions will I be asked? As I am 17 years old and will not be actually owning a shotgun until I am 18, i will be using my older brothers guns with him ( he lives in the same house as me and stores his guns here) any help to prepare would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot!! Phil
  3. My older brother has a sgc and he lives with us still so he will supply me the ammo and gun, I understand what you mean about the risk involved of the gun being stolen but I have no other means of transport and I walk down to my shoot with a buddy usually anyway and every one knows each other and yes it's literally just down the bottom of my road Thanks Phil
  4. Thanks for all your help guys!! I live in a rural area and its a " every one knows every one " sort of place and I would usually go with a buddy anyway so I would feel perfectly safe Thanks again guys! Phil
  5. Hi all, I am 16 years old and about to send off for my shotgun certificate and i am unsure about the law on the age restrictions of shooting unsupervised. Once my certificate has been granted, i believe i can shoot unsupervised given I have permission from the land owner (correct me if i'm wrong, i read that on the BASC website ) but am i allowed to take a shotgun to my shooting permission unsupervised as my permission is just down the road and my only means of transport is walking? Thanks guys Phil
  6. Hi all , Was just wondering what the best time of day to go rough shooting is?? Thanks
  7. British DPM blends in surprisingly well with the british country side :look:
  8. very nice shooting there and a lovely dog , i have maize that has just been cut and i went on there yesterday at the wrong time lol and it gave me doubts but im gonna return on saturday morning and shoot em' up!
  9. Hi , all there is a maize field on my permission that is due to be cut soon and i was wondering how productive maize is for pigeons. Thanks , Phil.
  10. I have hit hole on hole groups with a rested shot on a windless day at 30 yards my HW77 .22 , with crossman accupell
  11. Hi all , any tips on decoying pigeons with an air rifle? there seems to be loads going into the field - any advice on deek pattern , any bait to set out? wondering would cereal work as bait?? Thanks , Phil
  12. Hi Guys , i quite fancy going pigeon shooting today so any ideas of how to bag pigeons this time of year - i haven't really got very good place for deeks but if there is nothing else that will do, roost shooting doesn't really work as you can't see through all the leaves. so any ideas? Thanks , Phil.
  13. The heavier the pellet = more knock down power , transfers more energy to target , holds more energy at longer ranges. The lighter the pellet = longer range , better penetration , flatter trajectory , higher velocity. The power shouldn't change regardless of the type of gun ( Spring or PCP ) but may change due to weight of the pellet - lighter pellet = more power but if you use the same pellets the power shouldn't change as long as the power output is consistent.
  14. O.K i'll try it now thanks guys!
  15. Hi , Does anyone know how to get dents out of a stock - my HW77 air rifle has got a few which could do with getting rid of. Thanks , Phil
