  1. Sorry motty i think you may have misunderstood what i was saying what a said was it seem like they hit harder not they do hit harder and then merely stated that if george did indeed load #5,5 shot in the carts it could be something to do with it and i wasn't criticising the ballistic performance of the clear pigeon as i have shot with them for must be over 20 years when they were clear hulls.

I know others do shoot pigeons with light loads but i do believe larger shot and heavier loads kill better (more humane) providing you put the shot on the target that's why i prefer to shoot nothing less than 32gm #6 on pigeons to me it make sense

  2. Hi figgy stone dead is the name on the 32 gm #6 plaswad cartridge not on the box itself

A really hard hitting cartridge i used a slab of these and for me they seem to out perform rc sipe, victory starlights, and clear pigeon all 32 gm #6 plaswad which is my go to cartridge for most stuff i shoot with the exception of wildfowl off course :good:

  3. go for a springer cant go wrong i use one for everything and my mate is a serious wildfowler and wont have anything else but i guess its down to personal preference at the end of the day as i know a lot of good labs as well whichever you get it will be down to there parentage and there training how good they turn out although with a springer you will need to be calm and controlled around it when in training as they will pick up on your personality and if you are hyper so will the dog be :)

  4. Hi all,

I have recently bought some Beretta hunting extended chokes from sportsman gun center they are black and are extended 50mm,

I bought these for wildfowling has anyone used them before if so what are they like or more importantly are they any good, as they are only £28.00.

also do the sp stand for steel proofed !

  5. gamebore wild game are made for clarks of walsham i bought 2 slabs on saturday they are actually clear pigeon same batch code on the brown box as the clear pigeon as i have both only the wild game are a clear light blue case instead of the black case of the clear pigeon and a lot cheaper they had thousands :good:

  6. Extract from the CIP website:

12bore, 76mm chamber, max average pressure 1050bar, maximum statistical individual pressure 1200bar, mean proof pressure 1320bar

Question is, was this the standard in 1962 ? - onward and upward!

    cheers, Tedward.

tedward i also have a beretta a303 with 2 stars/psf proof marks but i love this gun so much i simply bought a new armsan a612 for hp steel cartridges proofed for steel with a fleur-de-lys these come with a 4 year warranty happy days will keep using the beretta for what it was originally designed for :good:
