  1. A low millage (30k) Triumph Tiger 885 1993 £1050 Selling due to moving house and not having the time to get the most from the bike. The bike is currently on SORN so will need to be transported away. The last four months the bike has been sitting in a garage unused, was running very well before that. I have recently stripped the carbs, cleaned them and replaced all the seals. They are now back on the bike but will need the air boxes fitting back on them. I ran out of time to do this from having to move. All the parts are there so nothing will need to be purchased to get it running once again. The bike comes with lots of extras including a Givi top box, tank cover and tank bag, disc brake lock and also a fitted alarm. Plus a haynes manual. Cheap to insure (I pay £99 a year and havent been riding that long) and cheap to tax (around £60 for the year) A previous owner did, it would seem, drop the bike and nearside of the tank has been scratched. Never got around to re painting as when you have the tank cover on you dont see it anyway. These tigers are great fun to ride, a great all rounder from twisty corners to cursing on the motorways. With the luggage included its all set up for touring. With a very little TLC this bike has got many more miles to give. Can arrange a visit anytime either weekdays or weekends . Any questions please send me a message via here.

    Hushpower .410

You mean the one on the first page? Sadly it's gone but would have been ideal, great price as well

    Hushpower .410

After a cheap Hushpower .410 Anything considered whether single shot or pump. Prefer f2f deal around the Dorset/Somerset area but would consider sending RFD if it's at the right price.

    Motor bike wanted

Got a triumph tiger 885 1997 for £1100 been sat for 8 months but I did clean and service the carbs before I put it away. Just needs the air box fitting back on as I didn't get around to it. Based south of Yeovil.
  5. Yep once you have everything set up it's not bad work and certainly pays well. However really I'm a blacksmith by trade and keep getting pulled back to fab work, I'd rather be hitting hot metal all day! Thanks Fisherman Mike, the house owner seemed happy enough with them!
  6. A little bit sparked by the PW Business Directory, wondering if there is any fabricators on here based in the South West? I currently have a contract to make up railings for newly installed mobile homes that I am about to end, looking to focus my business on other areas. Happy to recommend anyone on here who wants to take it on. There are around 50 sites so no shortage of work for these railings and it will certainly keep you busy. Mainly Dorest area but counties all around Dorset as well. Hopefully here is a pic of one of the last one I did to give you an idea. (Normally two per home) Just send me a message if interested or post on here. Atb, Tim
  7. Yep had the 'I'm a navy/army dude' a few times. The last one I got however was 'I'm an oceanographer stuck on a survey ship, can I send my agent...' Thought it was at least a little more original
  8. Haha a mixture of having a bottle of wine, auto correct and spending too much time with my 2yo daughter today! But yes, especially watch the red ones, they are the worst to remove from newly painted walls!
  9. The thing is Ray Mears never goes into a survival situation, rather he has vast amount of knowledge and studies how to live off the land, looks at tribes that still are living in that hunter and gathering lifestyle and so on. His programmes reflect that. Old Bear Gyrlls has no knowledge on how to really survive off the land, rather makes hyped up tacky tv shows about jumping into flooded crayons, chewing into live salmon and trying mount wild horses. Or at least that's all I've seen him do!

    Generator

After a generator with a 110v output around the Dorset, Devon, Somerset area. Thanks, Tim
  11. How about a good old Mora knife? Or can personally recommend Dave Budd for a decent knife blank. A blacksmith based on dartmoor who works out of a woodland.
  12. How much are you wanting to pay? Try your local steel merchant, think I paid £22 + vat for a 8ft x 4ft sheet 1mm galv last time I got some
  13. Well the second time we had to call out the heating engineer was when we started to smell oil ..... We put a monoxide alarm in at that point! Which has been fine.
  14. Thanks Shoothepigeon, will look into that and get onto my landlord about it. Was all installed this summer. Wasn't set up correctly when we moved in so had to get a a guy out, he said he would have never put it where it is and wasn't done very well. So not sure who installed it! With regards to oil prices, how much cheaper is it in the summer? Is it worth chucking a bit in now and topping up later or just get the tank filled now. And thanks Mike, checked out Fuelfighter but unfortunately they don't deliver down here at the moment.
  15. Haha so yeah, according to the manual that tank would be the expansion vessel...
  16. When I say tank, I meant a little one I can see when you open the boiler. We seem to get hot water out of the taps before the boiler fires up so I assumed it stores a little bit of hot water to give it to you instantly. I am probably wrong tho, like I said, first time I've seen/dealt with one! 32p/ltr sounds good! We're down in dorset but will ring around.
  17. Well that's at least good to know. First time heating a house with oil so didn't know what to expect! Think we got the oil through boilerjuice, they are quoting 45p a ltr at the moment. Bullet 1747, don't get your comment?
  18. Can anyone give me a rough estimate of how much oil a combi boiler normally gets through? We moved into a new rented house with a brand new combi oil fired boiler fitted. On the 7th of Dec we chucked 500 Ltrs into the empty tank at a cost of £300 and have just run out today. Turns out the wireless gauge was reading incorrectly! To me that seems like it's got through a lot of oil quickly? It runs the hot water and central heating, family of three and arnt ones to run the heating constantly. Although do seem to manage to have 2 showers and a bath between us each day. One thing the boiler doesn't have is any thermostats in the rooms or timers. We have to open the boiler to turn the heating on and we always leave the hot water on. Not sure if it's heating the small tank of water throughout the night for example or whether it's truly on demand. Your thoughts?
  19. And thanks everyone else, did ring up an engineering works and they quoted me a fiver a piece so just thought I'd ask here as well.
  20. Perfect, thanks for that! Just what I was after, just placed an order and at a very good price. Will be bookmarking that page!
  21. Bit of a long shot, but in a quest to finish my metal rollers project I'm after some large washers that shouldn't be too much of a problem to get cut out in the right hands. 54mm in diameter, with an internal 16mm hole made from 5mm mild steel. Need at least 6 of them. Let me know if you can help!
  22. Cheers chaps, all sorted now! Didn't have to be anything fancy. Was going for this look!
  23. I'm after an old motorcyle chain. Currently in the process of building a metal sheet roller and need a chain to link two of the rollers. If anyone has an old one lying around Id be happy to pay postage. Thanks Tim

  25. Myhermes are good and cheap, but not sure Id trust them with an expensive electrical item for example. They arnt the most careful with parcels, all run with self employed drivers, some are better than others! Although they are surprisingly quick at refunding any damaged caused!
