  1. hi, I have had a few trucks in my time... to be honest... I dont rate the mitsi L200 Animal at all... if it were me, I would have a Navara or a Ranger, then maybe a Toyota.. Navara are great.. owned 1 & the older D21, both had good engines = pull like a train Ranger... on my 4th, have owned mk1 4x4, a double cab, a Xlt, a thunder and now a 2x4 super cab, all ok, not bad... good for the money, nice allrounder Toyota.... old ones were great.... new ones, not so good...d4d engines can go wrong, and dont seam to have the torque like the older ones. mitsi... an over priced car... never found them to be that good as a truck... they look the part tho.. thats just my 6 pence worth...!!! I am sure I will now be shot down in flames... lol thanks Al.
  2. thats funny!!! but you forget about the leaking diffs, & swivel seals.....let alone gear box, & transfer box.... along with the bumpy ride, holes randomly placed to let in water when the weather turns bad,or cold drafts, wipers with one speed, heater thats only on or off, & a garden of plant matter growing in the window channels.... Ah the joys of a series Land Rover...!!!!
  3. lol... I wet myself!!! thats funny... is it only series owners that name there wagons? heres mine..... her name is MILLY ( last owner gave her that name...) but with the constant work on it.. I should call her uriah ... cos at the mo shes a heap!!
  4. yep... it is a capstan winch, runs from a pto, can pull forwards or back... forwards you can use the normal gears to help pull you out. for those that arnt in the know... its a Land Rover 101 fc, built in 1976, one of 2500 made for the military, BAe systems & the sultan of Brunei mine was a Rapier Tractor mainly served with 16 Regt RA Air Defence, but also with !2 regt, and 20 commando Regt, there were 3 main Variants, GS, Ambulance, & Radio Body, the latter can be split into 3 more, Normal Rad Bod, Interceptor, & the Very rare Vampire.. they come in Right or Left Hand Drive, 12 Volt or 24 volt, 24v was FFR ( Fitted For Radio) its a V8 permanent 4x4 and does about 12 mile to the gallon!!! but I am fitting a overdrive so should get 15 + I can honestly say, it is a great pleaser to drive (hard work, as no power steering) but it makes me grin like a cat!! thanks al.
