Can vary from day to day I have shot birds nearly in the dark at dawn and then they have not turned upto 1400hrs .
Today was a real poo day for me only one shot one birds sat hunched up and not in the mood to play.
I think the snow will push the birds if it comes more to west from the east coast .

Not sure of your approach to gain permissions will work myself you need to gain access to farmers either though beating etc.
So your face becomes well know for the right reasons in the frming cicrle.

Looks like it going to happen to me.
I would like to see it happen I think it will show how truely good he is I think the only bloke on the grid now who can match him is hammy .
Nothing to gain IMO he has if he comes back and is fast and wins a few races he will be even more a great driver.
Alonso seems to have lost his way at the moment having taken the titles of schumacher in his last two seasons.
Remember his last race if he had not had a punture he would have clearly won as he was two seconds a lap quicker.
Bring it on and let the battle begin.

Why is it unions for fairly unskilled labourers advocate strikes so often? Bin men, post men and now trolley dollies.
Sack the lot and train up the unemployed to do the job. Can't be that hard to hand out peanuts...
Thats the problem during the post strikes they had a chap on radio 2 who said he would do a postie job who was unemployed claiming housing job seekers et.
Then when point out he would be worst off working a 40 hour week he then changed his mind.
Before all of you have ago about wages and incomes start your post I earn x and I work hours x .
Dont forget if ever employer had there way we would all be on the min wage full stop no if no buts fact.
Would you work for min wage I dont think many would?
Agency worker good idear until they dont turn up because they are not contracted to if dont want to.
Like what is happned in royal mail over the christmas .
Was in a local paper royal swindon took on 500 agency staff only 59 turned up monday morning woops.

29k is not a great deal yes lots more than the average crews on other companys.
But that does not make it right guys 15 k in london cost of living is far higher than most of us enjoy.
And I think with all reporting some of it is incorrect and some times joe public make comments about subjects wth little or no knowledge of the correct facts.
Which if you dont know the full facts then how is possable to have a fair opinion on the problems.
And before you all say it I have until laterly earn a lot less than 29k more near the 15k mark.
So unless you know the facts I urge you to think before posting .

Hi marcus sands a very diffrent thing to get stuck in than mud .
Lowering pressure in sand helps where in mud not always in mud sometimes better to raise pressure as it raise the ride height and also narrows the width of the tyres and can cut though to the hard strata under the top soil.
Also it is all very well to lower the pressure but it depends how far you have to drive to get to a air line to pump up.
Unless you got a onboard compressor .
Every tried to drive a car with 10 psi in all four wheels .

Sorry if I have misread your post
But a unimog is a completely diffrent beast airing down on a mog reduces the surface to diff height by a few inchs which does not matter when you got huge ground clearance.
Also the mog has a very low pound per square inch as starndard let alone airing down.
Also airing down on said truck before the being stuck all he would have done is bury the front bumper/spoiler even deeper in the mud which would cause even more loss of traction.
Regards somebody who has done off roading while being shot at by blokes with rags on there heads and where being stuck could be a life or death matter if you get it wrong.

Pigeons are odd things more odd than women Imo.
Like merseadaivid says pigeons have fav fields what I have found from my local area is that if you buy some old os maps and study the birds fav fields you will probley find a reason dating back many years either hedgeline or copse or wood that has beeen grubbed out 50 years ago.
And thats why they prefer said field just passed down the bloodline in the local birds .
Classic case for me on one farm birds pitched in the middle of a massive field after talking to old boy found there use to be a beech hanger right where the flighted .
The strange thing being that the birds never fed where it use to be always around the wood which was circle .

Personelly some times some of the more senior shooter I think some times over think pigeons .
And when a new lad turns up and throws the deeks out without much thought its just what the birds want.
Some read too many gloosy shooting mags giving fancy advice with new whirlys which we alll charge out and buy.
Hypa hypa that I have gone back to using on most days the good old deeks with a elder branch bouncer like when I first started and having more luck with setup than all my fancy gear.
IMO the birds are wising up quickly and the good old patterns are working better.

it is all about momentum. However, as you say marginal tread, will make a big difference, even on a relatively road oriented tread. Saying that if you had a mud tread , larger size, and aired down I think you could have got through that ok
I dont want to be rude but letting air out of your tyres would be as much us as a choclate fireguard all it would do is let the truck sit lower in the that big mud hole given even less traction.
Having a large tyre would help slightly using momentum only helps if you have enough speed to clear the object and looking at that field it could have gone on for 300 or so mts thats if you dont wreck the truck using to high a speed.
So be careful of giving incorrect advise to others as it could end in tears .

I have mixed feelings on this subject I can see why they they are used as for the 24 7 nature of the guns .
Which no shooter can offer but Imo a regular gun once a week on a field without gas guns bangers etc.
Will get a higher kill and reduces number at the end of the day as archie would say gas guns dont kill pigeons we do.
All that happens is the problem moves,a little secrect for the farmer boys if you want to get pigeons of your farm trace them back to roost and ever night for a week go there just before last light and let of a few shots .
The birds will be push out of your area very quickly as no quite roost no pigeons.

Your bag with you dad yesterday was on the very high side for roosting shooting.
It hard to get a average as a rule not many shooter do it due to pheasant shooting tends to rule the roost woods .
As said get as much lead in air as poss 5s for me and 32 grams.

I went back to the field today that me and the lad had a good on the other day at the request of the farmer.
I only had a couple of hours due to having fell a tree for a customer that was leaning in there garden because of the waterlogged ground it so wet.
Still day to the moring started at tenish the field is only a 1 click away from home so I can ride the quad straight there .
I just took my gun no deeks or magnet 100 rounds just stood under the oaks for couple of hours birds where keen shot 28 ,I will return later in the week for a more concerted effort.

I know this is strange one but I give the bike a cold winter blast today.
Boy it was cold.
But why do the fuzz only seem to use there police bikes in winter i saw three today in diffrent locations.
But I do alot of summer riding and never see one unless I go to wales .
And it always seems to be when there a cold snap on.

Hi there
I only shoot pigeons and have browning 325 gold I have a set of 28inch barrles for decoying summer use with 28 grams.
From nov onwards swap to 32inchs and 32 grams full chokes both barrels for long range shooting as birds are out futher .
I am very small 5 8 but due to my work very strong forearms shoulders so dont find the weight a issue.
The basic fact is like one other poster says go for what fits you.
