  8. Hi all Having returned to shooting after a break of 25 years or so I though I would read a little about this shooting business. After all the reading my shooting got worse and worse, much worse than years ago when young and impulsive and you just point and pull the gun that is. Then I found this site and boy it does talk some sense. www.ospschool.com ---- sorry its American Here are just a few tips from the site, let me know what you think as I'm no expert Cheers Crocket Look at the front of the target and let the gun get somewhere in the front and pull the trigger. Too much thinking about where the gun is, leads to being behind. Your focus must be completely on the target. When shooting a target you must be consciously focused on the front of the target in order for your subconscious mind to be able to place the gun ahead of where the target is. Be precise in target focus and sloppy with lead.
  9. Hi all Over the past few months I have had some great days on stubble and rape but for last 10 days or so all the pigeons slung their hooks. I am in the East Midlands, the area is mainly arable with several large woods near by, yet now I see more maggies than woodies. Any ideas where they are because somebody has got my woodies and I want them back. "A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself." -Josh Billings
  10. Hi all Just got back after a cracking days beating, and a mate said to try this recipe for a warming meal after being out in the cold all day. The wife set it all going at 11am and left it until 5pm in the slow cooker, its was absolutely brill, such a tasty surprise with just 3 ingredients. 8 oz mature cheddar 12 oz bacon 2 medium onions Dice the cheese into ½ inch cubes, slice the onions, slice the bacon into ½ inch strips. Place all the ingredients into a casserole dish and mix up and add water until the lot is cover by 1 inch. Cook in a low oven for 4 hours ish checking occasionally or with a slow cooker it can be left for 5 or 6 hours. Serves 4 skinny folk or 2 mesters Rules : No salt or pepper whilst cooking No stirring at all Serve with crusty bread, I promise its a belter and surely the wife can’t mess this one up ? All the best Crocket For the young ones 8oz = 200g ----- 12oz = 300g ----- 1 inch = 25mm

One of the lads had arrived with a few cheeses and some cream crackers for a bit of a fuddle, well from the far side of the room someone shouts " I bet you can't eat 2 dry crackers in a minute, no water bla bla bla". Well game on , a couple of us had a go thinking easy peasy. Its not that easy peasy as we and several more punters tried and all failed. Let me now how you get on. All the best Crocket

  14. Hi all, New to this fox calling, but the farm where I shoot has a few which require removal quick and clean. I have read several pieces about the subject but still confused. All advice gratefully accepted, But my main query is how to call them. Do I used a CD, or the small electronic box thingies with different calls eg "Cass Creek Predator II", or is my hand as good as owt, but how do you stop yourself going blue in the face. 21. Hi I am having a few problems with the rubber butt plate on my Browning. Frequently when shoulding the gun the soft rubber butt plate catches my clothing thus the gun is not shouldered correctly. I have used a gun with a normal plate as all seen well. Q1 Is the a cure ?
