Not necessarily, he was getting a very big following, hundreds of thousands, he was bringing things to light that the media would not report on and our politicians shy away from. I wouldn’t be surprised if he does more than 2years 6 months.

Extract from the R V Belfield sentencing, from the link posted above.

"Summary of sentences 55. I will now summarise my sentences. For Count 5 concerning Mr Keith, 2 years 6 months imprisonment. For Count 6 concerning Mr Hewis, 2 years 6 months imprisonment to be served consecutively to Count 5. For Count 7 concerning Mr Dehaney, 13 weeks imprisonment to be served consecutively to Count 6. For Count 8 concerning Mr Vine, 13 weeks imprisonment to be served consecutively to Count 7. 56. This amounts to a total of 5 years and 26 weeks imprisonment. This is the shortest sentence commensurate with the seriousness of your offences and application of the principle of totality. 57. You will serve up to one half of this sentence in custody. You will serve the remainder on licence. You must keep to the terms of your licence and commit no further offence or you will be liable to be recalled and you may then serve the rest of your sentence in custody."

Note, "up to one half...", so its possible he could get out earlier and just have a longer "on licence" period.

I believe you have taken the wrong end of the stick here. @ooweewas responding to my comment, I think when he said "The death of a few animals and insects will be inconsequential" he was referring to the animals and insects that die through the production and transportation of food and not animals that are bread for the purpose of being consumed.

Having re read the sequence of posts you are probably right.
However, it does beggar the question, what happens to all the livestock if we all turn into vegans or vegetarians ?
I have always had meat free meals, including fish, other sea products and wholly vegetable dishes, but I can't imagine never eating meat.

Yep let's carry on as we are for now. As we need more food and reducing carbon, we will move to a more plant based diet and I guess synthetic based foods. Carbon tax will push meat to levels few can afford. The death of a few animals and insects will be inconsequential.

"The death of a few animals and insects will be inconsequential"

Here are some facts, just a "few" animals ?

    www.statista.com 2021 numbers.
    22.8 m lambs and sheep.
    9.4m beef cattle
    1.1m dairy cattle
    4.76m pigs
Too many chickens to count (incl domestic ownership)

You can use your mobile to access your emails at no cost as long as you are on free wi-fi

I am with Giffgaff ( 02) and they do not permit "wifi calling", if I use free wifi to access my emails, etc., it counts against my data allowance and is chargeable.
{[EDIT NOTE}] I think I can read my emails for free, but any replies are chargeable against data

It seems that the providers that permit "wifi calling" are few and far between.

  5. We will be outside the UK/Eu area and visiting various International countries early next year, for some time.
We will not be in any country long enough to buy a "burner", which we usually do for longer stays.

My UK mobile roaming deal will be suspended and I will be paying for texts, calls
and data on a varying tarrif per country.
I do not want to risk incurring high charges from my service provider.

It seems the best bet to avoid paying anything to my service provider, is to suspend mobile roaming,
use free wifi in countries we visit and communicate with home via WhatsApp.
Assuming I will not be able to access my emails via mobile, I can use my laptop to check/send those when required.

    Are my assumptions correct ?
Are there any other/better options ?
