  1. Don't swear at me but........ You can get a Remington action and barrel in an accuracy international chassis aluminium bedded etc. Looks near on identical and accurate. Check out rimfire magics web site under the custom Remington 700 section. £1200 isn't a bad price considering the stocks are £800 alone. However if your after the real deal, then I withdraw my comments and run for the hills!! Lol atb Dave
  2. Haha, good luck and enjoy. Any questions jst pm me chap. Atb Dave
  3. Hello buddy, Bsa pano reflex for about 93quid. That's the sight of choice for me on my hushpower mossberg 20ga. You have to mount them on a picatinny rail which you can get off eBay for £15. The rail itself just screws into the guns receiver no tools needed as all recievers are pre drilled on 20 and 12ga mossbergs. Try midway uk chap. Atb Dave
  4. I have a BSA reflex sight on my mossberg hushpower. It cost me £95 and handles being thrown about the quadbike fine for over a year now. I chose that particular sight because it has the largest circular reticle which is ideal for moving targets. It makes night shooting so easy. Eo tech is the best but it's 4 times the price and much bigger. Try midway uk they have loads. The BSA is real value for money. Good luck. Dave
  5. yeah they are a smashing breed all of mine have been and still are great with people and kids ( obviously supervised) only nasty if me, family or property are in danger. Atb Dave
  6. If you carry out another "survey" I would recommend you don't mention a specific breed of dog. Being a Rottweiler owner for many years I am loyal to safe guarding the breed of which mp"s have discussed banning. So using a Rottweiler as a scape goat for any agressive dog is severely damaging to the breeds reputation. We all know it's down to the owners how dogs turn out. You may think I'm over reacting but pigeon watch has a vast number of members and I would rather them pro instead of anti Rottweilers as the media has already demonized them.
  7. haha sounds like it will suit me then, I'm slighly trigger happy at my range. I found privi un reliable so the re loading bug may wel get me.....
  8. Cheers guys. I may well get myself one. At nearly half the price of Illuminated s&b, zeiss and swarovski they do look tempting. Mine will be used for lamping so if it's that ugly I can hide it in the shadows! Lol atb Dave
  9. have a look on google mate. most makes do a camo variant just a bit rare. you may find it a better option to get a standard gun and get it painted or dipped! you ill have a wider choice of coulour and designs. atb Dave
  10. China I believe. the US owes them over a trillion dollars!!!
  11. those trail cameras can be usefull, we have used them for catching fly-tippers. Set one up on your boundary near an obvious landmark, tree large rock etc (for reference) on a well worn path used by the ****, if you catch a photo or video of him with his rifle/shotgun you should have a case for armed tresspass.
  12. Fair point. I am aware of the GL conditions i was just highlighing that i dont object to lamping all vermin for crop/ stock protection. Providing it is killed as humanely as possible. You may not get a large bag at night but you are contributing to the cause. however you are correct, and I appolgise if i was seen in anyway to encourage law breaking. If it was legal im sure people wouldnt have a problem with it, after all its not like all the laws we have are exactly apt for the individual circumstance they apply to.
  13. I know people who lamp woodies and I cant see the problem, they are a pest that causes millions of pounds worth of damage. Just because they are in a state of inactivity it doesn’t make them any less of a menace the next morning on the farmers valuable crop. Those who shoot pigeons purely for pleasure and attempt to justify the killing by mentioning crop protection are very different from those who actually shoot pigeons to save the livelihood of the farm, and are not concerned if they eradicate the pigeon population. Being enjoyable is simply a by-product. Pleasure shooters will complain about the morality of lamping woodies so that they can have a larger bag whilst shooting for sport. If Morals are an issue can killing any animal purely for enjoyment be classed as moral?
  14. @fortune82, as a Rottweiler owner I agree with you and it sounds like an accident waiting to happen. Dogs should not be brought out into public unless they can behave and be totally controlled and restrained. It seems like a severe case of bad training and a lack of discipline. If people even consider owning Rottweiler’s they should fist and foremost accept that the dog they have chosen could be problematic and potentially lethal unless properly trained/ socialised. My dogs will look after my house, yard and family with deadly force if necessary, but when its not necessary they should be calm and confident and interact with who or whatever accordingly. I would inform the police and if enough people do so, the court can enforce a dangerous dog order which stated earlier forces the owner to muzzle the dog in public. If only all dog owners had common sense . However as a last resort carry a small squirty container with a nasty highly irritating liquid in, it may sound extreme but if your in fear of your well-being a spray of something to the dogs face will buy you some time. good luck, Dave
  15. I am fully aware of the fact crude oil is a major raw component in many manufactured products as well as the obvious fuels which turn the cogs of the civilised world. My previous post was originally agreeing with the fact that these recent conflict interventions are built out of securing oil fields and are purely for financial gain not protecting lives.
  16. slightly off topic but... I caught a weasel in a scissor style mole trap last year. I wasn’t too happy because he was hunting moles I guess. atb dave
  17. I totally agree. but it would be interesting to look at the exact figures. oil makes billions and wars cost billions i wonder what the ratio is! I mean it isnt like we all have a huge deficit to sort out now is it?? atb
  18. I have already shot 40 on saturday "playing" but my RFD has another 100 for me when I need them. it has been hard to source V max lately so went down the TAP route. Charlie hates them!!
  19. My .223 has a 1in8 twist and likes 55gr and above. 75gr shoot pretty good. My favourite factory round is Hornady 55gr V max which will shoot into one hole at 100yards, so i havent yet bothered re-loading. I have recently taken in 100 hornady 55gr TAP rounds which are near identical to the V-max, they shoot just as well and cost £12 per box instead of £16 for vmax. For £12 per 20 im not sure if re-loading will ever pay for its self??? or will it?? atb Dave
  20. Hello mate. I have used loads of hushpower carts in 5 's. I found them only slightly quieter and a lot less punchy. I have now switched back to regular 20ga 6's with fibre wads. For a very slight noise increase you get superb speed for woodies and rabbits. With the hushpower carts I had loads of runners whilst rabbit shooting and found the range very poor for woddies in flight. Atb dave
  21. I have been curious about the higher mag IOR scopes for a while now. I'm just after feed back from owners/users. How do they perform in the field or under the lamp?? Clarity? Compared to zeiss, s&b, swarovski, NF, leup etc etc if they are as good as border barrels say then I may treat myself. Cheers. Dave
  22. Yep, same with me buddy nothin to report just a handful here and there. A chap down the road (20 miles away) had some big probs. Sounds like he has them all!! Lol
  23. I've got an sgc ar15 with a 16" barrel. It's great in the truck very accurate and perfect for 300 yard foxing. I was told by sgc even with a 16" barrel it's good to 600 yards! For such a small gun it's superb and will take 55 to 80grain bullets. They do cost more than an aug but really worth it and you can swap so many bits over very easily, stocks, barrels, guards, rails. Mine has a Jewell trigger and shoots superb. The only real choice for a staight pull "black rifle" oh and yes the cocking does make a bit of a clunk! Atvb Dave
  24. I too am curious. I set my .22 with subs to be bang on at 50 yards (1") but it's more like 3" low at 75 and 6" at 100 yards. They are a great tool for jobs intended. My .17hmr will 1/2" at 100 yards, 3" low at 150yards and 8" low at 200 yards. Every gun should be able to achieve 1" with prefered ammo at given ranges. If this can't be achieved move closer until you can is my advice when zeroing. Out in the field groups will easily double once weather, position and adrenaline kick in. Atb Dave
