Sorry to say but there is such thing as a £50 shot gun i purchased a browning 2000 semi auto of my mate i mint condition.

Get your self a .22 hornet with some 35grn hornady v max that definatley does the job & sorts them charlies out good & proper.

Have a look on gun star there are some second hand cz & brno on up for grabbs at around £160 scoped.

I use 3/8 & 5/8 in my 32inch miroku & that does the job for close birds & long birds using 30grm 6's.

30 or 32 inch barrels are better but get a gun that you feel comfortable with preferebly a multi choke that way the more experience you get shooting it the tighter chokes you can put in the ideal chokes to start with would be 1/4 & 1/2 that way the moore confident you get you can tighten up on your chokes.I shoot a miroku 3800 grd3 32 inch 3/4 & full at everything but that has come with years of experience.

Look's like a winchester select to me.
