  1. Report in a local rag recently

A 70 year old lady on her own sitting watching TV in her lounge, brick or rock comes crashing through the window. A youngish male voice heard (reportedly) say "got her" He then rode off on a push bike accompanied by another youth on a motor bike. Police are investigating, (good luck with that.)

According to Mrs SBL in the minds of some young scum if you're old you have the virus and are therefore fair game, unbelievable.

I would happily take a rhino whip to the backs of such idiots.

and that is get in a bath....and empty 1/2 dozen litre cartons of pure tomatoe juice over yourself.....there is an enzyme in it which breaks down the smell...

Saw this and thought Farmboy is having a larff, have to say the thought of someone sitting in his tub and emptying 3 litres of tomato juice over them selves (while trying not to throw up) had me in kinks.

Anyhoos asked Mrs SBL and she confirmed it was correct, where she gets this info from is any ones guess.

Everybody, or at least the elders, goes to church in Italy? Italians kiss each other on the cheek,  i think a japanese would be horrified if you tried.

And they don't generally shake hands, something to be said for a bow or a nod of the head ??

So why only search young people? More likely older people with families would get more desperate first...

    search everyone or no one

Because historically over the last few years it's been mostly young males from north to south coasts who are quick to chiv someone for little or no reason (drug disputes excluded).  Older people are a lot more tolerant (usually). I'd like to quote some stats on ages of offenders involved in knife crime but I can't and have no intention of searching for any.

It's about time the Military were used to enforce supermarket rationing, to stop all these idiots.

Plus every young man who appears under 25 should be searched at gunpoint if necessary. Wait until the stabbings start.

Think of the savings on pensions 😷  However the inept millenials will start moaning when they find they can't manage without their elders

    Mrs SBL's take on this

Long term self isolation coupled with withholding treatment (possibly)will produce :-

Increase in suicide rate among the elderly + increase in the death rate due to the disease and lack of hospital beds and equipment such as ventilators.

Increase in hunger esp among those without close relatives / friends to help, fetch and carry etc. (tescos is talking about weekly delivery's at the moment ) but not every elderly person has or can use the internet.

Hospital appointments, missed this among the long term ill may increase the death rate.

Daresay the list could be added to if some thought is given to it.

This is quite worrying, I am 73 and have 2 underlying conditions, (heart and kidney)

Mrs SBL is 71 and apart from needing a skeleton transplant is reasonably well ATM.

Many “older people with underlying health conditions” are very active and working. My mother is 63, has recovered from two strokes, has angina and weak lungs and frequent pneumonia. However she still works part time and also often looks after my nieces and nephews. I imagine her chances would be bleak if she contracted the virus however the economic effect of losing people like this will still be felt. Those saying it unburdens society have very limited understanding of the role some older people play in their families and communities.

Also consider how many older people fulfill caring roles for relatives spouses etc. Would the system cope without them.......I think not.

We will make the best of it as usual but not enjoy it much?

Sounds like the policy here unlike most other countries for tackling this situation is to isolate us oldies and not provide medical treatment if/when illness strikes?

Wow what a convenient/timely way to reduce the population here?

A new political moral low maybe?

  8. Several years ago we had a customers rep from Brussels visiting our factory. She had a stanley type knife in her hand luggage. I asked how she got it through airport security undetected. No problem she replied I just walked through, no one checked me.

Well says I you wont get away with that at Newcastle airport, anyhoos I'll send it back to you in the next delivery. Found out later she had another one in her hand bag and waltzed through security. This was late 90's when skyjacking was a regular thing.

  9. Lots of claims by the beeb & the RSPB going back I think they said 12 years. Gamekeepers heavily criticized however not one shred of proof was shown despite claiming they (RSPB) had video evidence.

Instead they showed some short clips of raptors soaring in the clear blue skies (Haaaa).

    Plus what Piebob said.

Sooner the Licence is gone the better might curtail some of their wilder claims

  10. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but were laws not passed 2/3 years ago forbidding a) the disruption of a legal activity and b) the wearing of masks while doing so.

If I am right it would seem the police need only enforce the laws they (chief constables) like.

Downward slope to an even bigger police state then we have now.

And THIS might lead to even less pangolins...

Quite so Henry, as if these creatures weren't under enough pressure already.

edit to add.....No one knows how the virus was passed, people especially the so called experts and of course the less well informed.

Straws and grasping springs to mind.

  12. A thought occurred re the illegal channel hoppers. Apart from France no one knows where they come from until they are landed here, and then they don't usually tell what country they are from. Nor are we told if they are being quarantined as a matter of course.

Given that there (usually) is a proportion of these people from the far east is there not a real risk with this situation.

Has it even crossed the minds of the authorities, even those capable of joined up thinking.
