  1. Guns you all use guns and at those distances? How very dare you?

I use a 4 bore peashooter but to get the distance it needs to have a long barrel 18" at least. The other things are choice of scope and carlins. Scope not really necessary below 500 yds, as for carlins whatever Florrie down the shop has got cheap. Scope above 500, any flea bay rubbish will do.

Now then to improve fire rate stuff yer gob with a good amount, gives the choice of single shot, semi or full auto once you have mastered the tongue technique.

Also very eco friendly as if you miss the bunnies/birds get a feed on the carlins.

For further information wrt to pea shooter hunting (no license required btw) post card to Dougy's muppet.

Well last weekend i went out for the pigeons. Set up about 11 sat there and waited for them to come in by the thousands.

My luck never changes, one came in and i missed. So had something to eat and on me way back to the car i seen a police car parked behind mine.

Unloaded my gun and carried my rubbish back to the car. My so called local wildlife officer introduced herself and asked me if i had a licence and permission obviously i have both but I don't carry them with me.

She said i need to carry them both with me at all times and i need to phone 101 anytime i go shooting.

Do i need to phone and carry my info round?

It makes sense to carry your license and permission form (or at least copies). If you don't plod can check on radio WRT license but phoning 101 ???  There is divided opinion on PW regarding this. One half says it's not a legal requirement so don't give plod more conditions they can turn into rules (their rules)  the other half say it doesn't hurt so do it.

Up to you at the end of the day.

  3. Henry, Scully

You are both right, it seems to me that both 'services' are ineffectual in controlling their behaviour. The best response is as Scully said to trot out that jaded platitude "lessons will/ have been learned" The question is WHEN.

What is wrong with the police? They have a clear responsibility to protect the public but appear not to have done this here. The children's 'services' does not surprise me, they have long been infected with the animals who assault children. How do they get away with it for years?

Any one of us sneeze in public and its tickets gone.

300 +.... enough is enough, one is too many.

Don’t worry I did fight my corner and told him he was wrong and I had never heard such rubbish, which he did not like and walked away shaking his head saying well I have warned you.

That’s why when I got home I thought I would run it past a few on here, just to make sure I had not missed something and ended up with egg on my face.

All credit to you Old'Un however you should never argue with an idiot. They will confuse you with stupidity and win the argument.

Seriously you stood up for what you believed was right and that's what matters.

In fairness, seagulls in built up areas do only associate people with food, mainly because people feed them.

The only interaction I have had with gulls in the countryside is watching them follow farming equipment , or wiping their droppings off my truck.

They do need thinning out in some built up areas, but so do the feral pigeons.

Above is 100% correct, some years ago our council introduced a by-law forbidding the feeding of scems (ferals) and seagulls. In their wisdom they decided not to police it.

We now see on a regular basis people dumping the contents of carrier bags (corn etc) in the market square.  Apart from the gulls diving on people to steal food, (wife saw a young woman on way to A&E with a badly gashed arm done by a gull). Another occasion she clashed a gull which was trying to steal a toddlers sausage roll with her bag, lots of hacky looks and comments from the fluffy bunny lot. Wife being a refined lady gave them a mouthful to embarrass a builders labourer.

On top of the above there is the mess and what a mess, its not cleaned by the council so only gets worse. The councils only attempt at control was to put corn laced with contraceptives  on the ledges of buildings. Worked a treat notttttt

Perhaps when a liebour  councillor gets his baldy scalp slashed they will do something effective. No one here is holding their breath though.

  6. Compared to the game with that bunch of thugs known as the Camerloonys this match was a breath of fresh air. Civilised play, only one yellow card, a ref actually in charge AND not once was the video used that I saw.

The result in England's favour a big bonus, despite the doom and gloom pundits.

    Next.

  7. Our practise has 2 brilliant receptionists, really are the salt of the earth. Down side is there is one who on a good day would still be a vitriolic bitch. Her usual greeting is "YES" my reply is always "NO; I'll speak to that lady, she has some manners".

Goes down a treat, unfortunately it winds the cow up to bully less able patients for the rest of the day. Odd occasion I've demanded to see the practise manager only to be asked why. "So I can put a complaint in about your attitude" is my reply.

Quietens her down for a little while but then she's off again.

Seen this last week👍Seems Packham sticks his beak into anything.

Everything except items which are worthy of not just Chwis' attention, eg Botswana is relaxing elephant hunting, bad,bad move. They say the revenue generated will help local economies. (for local economies read warlords, tribal chiefs and other general riff raff with big guns) So far not heard a word of protest from CP could have missed it I suppose.

Really the answer is simple, rename the elephant to.................LAPWING, continued protection guaranteed from CP and his cohorts.

Although I think they would first have to get a taste for mealy mealy served in an African jail, now there is a nice thought to start the day.

  9. It's not just dogs is it ?? 80 year old man seriously beaten by a road rage thug for complaining when said thug almost ran him over. Thug chased him an kicked the hell out of the old fella. Not seen it but a video is supposed  to show what happened. Cops not found him yet.

72 year old man beaten by a large cyclist who almost ran the old guy's dog down on a footpath /bridleway . 'Old' chap complained and got beaten up for his trouble. Not found either.

Now have a care, there are many mature members on here who are the salt of the earth, would not hurt a fly and are very good to their grand children. This is coming to a town near you and soon.

Why??? because the scum who do it can.

  10. Why oh why does the UK take part in this drivel every year. Don't know what it costs the UK or what (if any) benefits the UK gets from  it.

Could be wrong but is this the first year in a hardly ever that we got more than the historical null point Brit bashing exercise this has become.

  11. If I get another stranger coming up to me in the market square with "Hi guys" my elastic bands will stretch beyond recovery. Mrs SBL narrowly missed twotting one (half an inch) who got aggressive when she declined to donate. Told her she has to restart training.

Seriously though they pursue you for everything from overseas aid to dubious home grown charities from utility companies to solar panels.

The only ones we support are the sally bash and a couple of forces. They go about their business in a quiet way the way the law says they should. The rest are just bunch of yapping hyenas.

  12. Me too, no champers waiting for bunnies squizzers etc.

Looking at this silly woman's suggestion, would this not increase ( by a factor of several fold) the police costs in administering licensing which I doubt the £200 suggested fee would cover. Still might get get a few people off benefits or more likely raise the waiting time to 2 years. ???

Pity the op has not given a clue to this woman's political leaning, although I suspect she may be a friend of Diane Abbot given the elitist slur re champagne and shooting costs.

My son uses this train to and from uni’. He’ll be using it tomorrow in fact. It isn’t the best of services, nor is the TransPennine service; heaters on full blast when it’s warm, and no heating when it’s cold! What’s that all about?

    Driver and crew comfort ???

You can book a quiet carriage you know? Often its only a few extra pounds for first class and that can be a real game changer.

Where are you? I think you are in the US? Amtrak is good these days

Vince the Newcastle to Carlisle train only ever has 2 carriages, they never put an extra one on the train so a quiet carriage is never going to happen. If a train was cancelled there will be a lot more passengers waiting for the next one. Had it more than once, worst was a missing train resulting in double the passengers on a Newcastle -v - Middlesbrough  at home day (for NBI its a football (soccer) game ))= at least triple the number of passengers. Guess what still only two carriages, we cannot use a different train operator there isn't one on that route.

  15. Everyone should travel by train at least once, which  if you do it in the UK once is probably all it will be. Overcrowded, late cancelled, loud people talking on their mobiles (doubtful if there is anyone at the other end) it's just a look at me look at me person. Not cleaned after each journey, the list goes on.

Here in the north we use Northern Rail for our regular trip to Carlisle to visit daughter and granddaughter; On a scale of 1-10 for everything including common sense I guess they would score a negative. Unfortunately it's the only service we've got to get across country so hey ho'

  16.  Was on a flight to HK a few years back, sat next to a pleasant Irish gent. When they served supper he paid particular attention to his (not plastic) utensils eventually declaring, "will you look at dat, they took  moi nail scissors off me and now they've given me a noif. (apologies for the rubbish written Irish accent).

He had a point though which was how stupid the decision making process was. IIRC it was (surprise suprise) from Heathrow.

  17. Neither Rolex or Submariner or any other 'luxury' watch.

Depending upon the areas you frequent chances are someone will want to tap you on the head and steal it. Been a few footballers robbed for their £xooo's Rolexes while sitting at traffic lights. No one will want to steal my Swatch Irony, birthday present from my son around 15 years ago. Its never faltered just needs a fresh battery every 6-7 years but I have worn 4 straps out.

Anyone remember the freeby digitals garages gave for buying £5 or £10 of petrol. When the battery dies just bin it and buy some more petrol.

  18. Bejasus they gave you lot gun tickets, none of you would have been allowed a catapult if you had to declare adolescent naughtys.

As sure as I'm sat here riding this bike I was a good boy. 😁 Only have two impact scars (rocks) on my head, one dart hole in my face  and several short cut scars in various places. 😥

  19. Now 49 dead and 30 seriously injured (so fatalities could rise, hope not but?). One man arrested and charged.

Source = BBC news but guess it will be all over the www and every radio and news channel.

    Allegedly white supremacists but unconfirmed.

Now reported 3 men and one woman arrested, don't believe it's confirmed.

No she shouldn’t be back, but she will be, renamed, rehoused and encouraged to scrounge by the guy that buys a new Bentley with her legal aid money..

The real question is, when will she blow uk innocents up? Perhaps a PW book is in order? Could combine it with Brexit, which will happen first...

If the authorities can give new IDs and locations and possibly plastic surgery to two convicted murderers they will do it for this person too. The British public may never find out she is back and living a comfortable life on the state (i.e. us lot).

  21. She turned her back on this country because it suited her early-pubescent ideals at the time. Now having failed to realise those ideals (she's in a refugee camp and lost 2 children already to malnutrition and sickness) Not hard to see why she wants to return is it.  Dibble you view forgiveness and mercy as British values. Perhaps if isis had shown mercy to the innocents they slaughtered we could have shown forgiveness.

Are not these values more Christian rather than British, There does not seem to be much forgiveness  and mercy being shown here by our British forum members, me included. Leave her where she is, revoke her passport and withdraw any rights to UK citizenship she may have left. She's been  nothing but an isis 'comfort girl' since she left the UK and gave up all entitlement to the UK and 'it's' forgiveness and mercy.

  22. Public toilet in a park around 2 miles from me and opposite a friends house, absolutely notorious. He had the police set themselves up in one of his upstairs front rooms with cameras. Got loads of pics, some very tasty motors snapped. They were there for a week and got some very interesting (to them) photos Friend talking to the cops when taking up cuppas and biccys got told some very interesting things, NN NPD thing. Some of the car drivers were influential locally known citizens including lawyers a senior cop and councillor. No action taken against anyone; surprise surprise.

Anyhoos I told him that somewhere in another town people were having a similar problem, the toilets got fire bombed and put out of action. Guess what around 2 months after that conversation the problem toilet block here also got fire bombed, coincidence or what, never asked.
