  7. I have used the SPORTSMAN GUN CENTRE between WEYMOUTH and Dorchester many times and always found the staff very friendly and helpful, even if its some small item you need or even advice about something.I think the guy in charge is called Bert and nothing is too much trouble for him. And if your thinking I have any connection with the shop,no I do not.I think its easy to complain when you get poor service, but when the service is good you should acknowledge it. Pete.
  8. Thanks HDAV and DAVE 1419 for both of your replies,as mentioned I have not been shooting very long and have still got a lot to learn. So that is why I find these forums very good and helpful. If I get stuck again I know where to come. Pete.
  9. Hi everyone.I am quite new to shooting, and have read in quite a lot of posts about how some of the shooters on here are not very keen on snapcaps. Is there a reason for this as I thought that if the gun is fired without cartridges in the barrels it could damage the firing pins. As I said, still new to shooting and hoping to learn from the experienced shooters on this forum. One more question. If you have a missfire with one of the cartridges, after waiting for 30 seconds to a minute before ejecting the cartridge what do you do with the cartridge then. All advice welcome. Pete.

    Weihrauch HW45

Still heard nothing from Sportsman Gun Centre re: my HW45 I think I will give them a ring tomorrow to see if their new Weihrauch stock has arrived.I could get it from another source but they were the cheapest ( I think ) Pete.
  17. Thankyou very much Rob for your offer,I am just about to email her.If I dont hear anything I will pm you. Thanks again Pete.
  18. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thankyou very much Rob for your reply and the info on the cartridges.I emailed Hull cartridge about a week ago asking the same question.I did explain I was a new shooter and asked where my nearest supplier was,but never received a reply.I will mention your name Rob perhaps it might make them sit up a bit. Thanks again for your help. Pete.
  19. Hi.Thankyou all for your comments and advice,as I am new to shooting I asked on this forum which carts would have the least ammout of kick, for myself and also my wife who like me loves clay shooting. We had had a couple of trial days and both loved it,so are now hooked.I have looked on the internet for prices for the Hull comp x 21g carts and all though some stock them, most are in P/W and have been told not all shooting grounds like these as they do not bio degrade.Essex Gun sell the carts but only in P/W at £135 per 1000 plus delivery.I enquired at one of my local shooting grounds where we had our trial days,PURBECK SHOOING SCHOOL and they wanted £179.82 per 1000 and that was if I collected the carts from them.I have contacted Coach on this forum as suggested by HDAV and just waiting for a reply. Pete.
  20. Hi everyone.I want to purchase my first lot of 1000 12g cartridges,as I am new to shooting. The cartridges I want to buy are Hull comp x 21g F/W,can anyone advise the best place and price to me.I want to buy them on the internet as there are only 3 shops I know of in DORSET and 2 of them do not stock them and the 3rd wants extortionate prices for them. What is the procedure for buying cartridges on the internet, as obviously this is my first time.. Any help would be much appreciated. Pete,
  21. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aw thanks for that, and there was me going to try and fit them in my HW45 somehow. Pete.
  22. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi everyone. From all your replies I think Hull Comp x 21g will be the ones I will get.I have to go back to the gun shop in about a week to pick up my HW45 I ordered,so will pick up the cartridges then. Thanks again. Pete.
  23. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Thanks for your reply.I will get her a couple of boxes of 21g and 24g and see how she gets on with them. She is quite small,so I will have to see which ones suit her best. Pete.
  24. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks for your advice,Buying her a semi may sound like a good idea to me as I could also use it.But I think on Christmas day if she opened a box with a semi auto in it,I dont think she would be all that pleased. But I suppose I could buy her a couple of boxes of 21g cartridges instead, and say these are just for YOU. Pete.
  25. Hi everyone. Can any suggest a 12g cartridge that is light on the shoulder (hardly any recoil) but will still bust a clay.I want to get some for my wife before we go out next. The gun I use is a Beretta Silver Pigeon 1. Any advice will be much appreciated. Pete.
