  1. I was there yesterday. Nice to see only one or two dogs being dragged around. Don't bother with a coat as it's quite warm inside. Plenty of shooting related things to view or buy. I don't go with the intention of getting cut price bargains off the smaller guys we all know as if we don't support them they will not be there. I did view a few guns but not in the view to buying but I did see what I thought was reasonably priced guns. I'm sure there may be some space for driving a bargain. I did but another turbo flapper from Andy at AA decoys and a new dog whistle. My son and friend bought far more and was well pleased with what they got.

We got there early and drove straight in. We did encounter a bit of traffic in road works north of the showground but that would be the same any day of the week. It did seem strange going to a shooting show with no gundog trials etc but as it was my first ever visit I was unsure on what to expect. All in all a good day out without getting either soaked or sun tanned.

  2. One of my childhood best friends shaped me. The house brick he threw at me as a joke thinking I had seen him reshaped my busted nose for a while.

My cousin was my biggest influence. He taught me smoking at 14 was not as bad as my parents suggested. He showed me how invincible you are after many pints of beer. He taught me to drive a car from the age of about 15...illegally. He proved to me you did not need to have a long list of qualifications if you wanted to be successful. He went from tea boy to a top manager. He sadly taught me life can also be short. He passed away leaving a wife and two lovely kids at the age of 33. He was a very good footballer and cricketer who lived his short life to the full. We were best friends rather than relatives

  3. I have just had a home visit after receiving my renewed certificate. It's been 10 years since my last visit. Guns were checked for serial numbers. Cabinet checked for secure fixings etc. Was asked about where the keys were kept etc. Then I was asked a few questions about alarms etc. And who actually lives with me. Had no qualms about answering any of the questions and why should I? We do own dangerous weapons in the wrong hands. If you were unfortunate enough to have your guns stolen you may find you had a few more questions to answer than we have to now.

  4. I don't think it's a joke at all and especially being what I would call on my doorstep from where you describe the location. It always makes me very wary of where I shoot as many of the bigger creeks have seals coming in on the tide. I've even had one sit less than 6 meters from me on the other side of the small creek I've been pushed out of. It's not worth risking injury to a dog or endangering the dog for a duck. Is it getting to the point where do we shoot the creeks where we know seals are do we not shoot there. .very debatable subject. I would not send my dog anywhere where it would put her at risk. She's my best friend at the end of the day.

  5.

She is a lovely dog to have out on the marsh, especially like the way she loves carrying your hat back to the car.

She has to carry something. You do have to keep an eye on her as she's been known to borrow the odd glove etc off people I have been out with. Barrold off here could vouch for this as she borrowed his friends glove on one of those freezing mornings. I sat them in from of me but see they were stood up for quite some time looking for something. I took a look at rhia and see her layer with her head on this quite well padded expensive looking glove. I made my excuses and said she had found it. She has been known to carry a pink from kenzies to the car park too.
