  2. I used a lot of homeloaded steel loads for pheasant shooting last year,the performed fantasticly well as they did on the ducks i shot as well as the partridges, the hares,rabbits and everything else i shot last year. why wouldn't it be sporting? Kenzie

  10. Why?how many ricochets have you had?steel on wood doesn't make a great deal of ricochet noise does it?iv'e never heard any such noise in the last 5 or so years of using steel for roost shooting when using up steel loads up at the end of the season? kenzie

  13. Not worth it for clay or game loads, but cost savings really come in for non-toxic or heavy 'exotic loads' which take your fancy. Regards starlight32 It all depends on supply! My 12g clay loads 'cost' less than 50 quid a thou. My .410, (12 gram) 20 quid a thou. 12g 53 gram 3" cost less than 80 quid/1000. My .410, (12 gram) 20 quid a thou Are you forgeting to use primers and powder?
