I did the same with my landy with a bigger hole. We found it is better with the lamper stood in the back with the shooter lamping free hand then you can see over all the hedges and somtimes you cant see fox eyes just with being at a different angle. It is also better being able to talk to the lamper. Fixing the lamp to the roof is not a bad thing though because half the time it is to cold to be stood up there. The biggest prob I had with mine was getting it to pass the hose pipe test Let me know how you get on with it

Thanks for the advice. I sometimes go for a head or a neck shot if it is a dead cert, Just to preserve the rest of the carcass, the 270 can be a bit messy. I have never taken a jaw out before but yesterday just proves that it could go horribly wrong.
