get your (left hand if your a right hander)hand inside the cistern and put your fingers up inside the bottom of the syphon and push, the rod will come out of the top there will be a hole in it to attach a c hook https://www.screwfix.com/p/euroflo-plastic-wc-cistern-lever-kit/6854R?tc=CA5&ds_rl=1249481&ds_rl=1245250&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIpN3VkcL22AIVLrftCh0QcQOlEAQYASABEgJtsvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CJvfgpbC9tgCFVYh0wodD4MAmQ
attach plastic arm on one end and other straight onto the lever
Winston,. It's not the handle that's broke but the top of the syphon where the metal linkage attaches to has snapped off.
Good news is, it's a 'metro' syphon so apparently it can be changed without dismantling the toilet but the plumber couldn't get one over the weekend.

This is Taxidriver you know, this could be the next tsunami.
Taxidriver it's not that hard to replace, but while the waters off put an isolation valve in, the flexi type.
Best of luck, if you were closer i would do it for you. Hope your all well and good.
It better not be the next tsunami - I'm on a water meter !!!
the feed to the bottom of the cistern is a solid copper pipe,. No flexi pipe that I can see.

no
you can by that part from b&q for instance, and you can slide the broken bit off the handle shaft and put new bit on then you connect the wire bit that lifts the plunger bit up
It's the top of the plunger that's snapped, where the wire would be connected to it from the handle

cheers
tom
Thanks,.
Thats rather what I was afraid of :(
it is a close coupled cistern mounted directly to the toilet. Can't see any valve to isolate the water supply to toilet however :( (that'd be too easy)
THANK YOU GENTS.

The bit that lifts up (siphon?) when you push down the handle seems to have suddenly snapped off and now it's dropped down inside.
has the cistern got to be removed to change the flusher thing ?

I have no idea who George Soros is.
He's the guy who makes those expensive wifi multi room sound systems/speakers.
after all that I didn't get to watch it anyways,.
20 mins before it was due to start I had a phone call from the 111 health/ambulance people telling me my mother had rung them, in there opinion "she sounds like she is seriously unwell,. Unable to breath, has chest pains and needs urgent treatment at A&E" . They advised I take her to hospital urgently as there was an 8hr delay for an emergency ambulance.
got to hospital, explained the same situation only to be told there was a 5hr delay to see a Dr.

Thanks for that,. Was sure they were advertising it for tonight,. Was driving me mad as I couldn't find it anywhere - CHEERS

Can anyone tell me when it's on and what channel PLEASE
kept hearing it advertised, thought it was tonight but can't find it anywhere ?
Thanks in anticipation.

Through what many would no doubt see as a stroke of good fortune,
I've ended up with 5.5kg lump of Prime Sirloin with no idea what to do with it ? (Nothing to fancy or involved)
Grill or Fry ? Boil or Roasted ?
Im thinking cooked lower and slower for longer for best result ?

Apologies for resurrecting such an old thread but I thought I'd save starting another,
last few days I've had cold/flu like symptoms and a general malaise about me,. I've been experiencing patches of burning sensation which have then come out in a rash 8 - 12hrs later,. It's all along the front n back of my right shoulder, down my arm and up my neck, (which is also as stiff as a board and painful)
i suspected Shingles after googling my symptoms and Dr's confirmed it this afternoon :(
ive been prescribed some horse sized pills Aciclovir 800mg and some antibiotic cream to put on the blistered rash.

I thought you can no longer transfer road tax when selling a vehicle, but recently I've had two occurrences that would seem to contradict this
I bought a motorbike for my son, and the previous owner sent off the V5 with my son detailed as the new keeper, We put a SORN on it as he can't ride it just yet, He duly received a new V5, AND, a refund on the road tax which I would have thought should have gone to the previous owner.
Tonight,
I've gone to tax my new bike using the new V5 in my name and I can't as the DVLA's site insists there's still 2 months tax on the bike
Surely the previous owner would have or should have got this as a refund when he notified the DVLA of change of keeper.

To the OP,
You're almost certainly incorrect. I'm out of work following an accident/recovery and having been self employed find I'm entitled to, and receive nothing.
I went to my GP initially, had ears syringed twice over a couple of months - no improvement, After that I got referred to the audiology dept, got tested fairly quickly and fitted up with a behind the ear jobby = Wow what an improvement
All free of charge, including a 3 month supply of batteries and the little tube bits.
Boots etc etc prices start around £750 and go onwards and upwards, (Who new knew you can get hearing aids with Bluetooth that'll hook up to your phone #wicked)

Deauville was only a 650cc with later variants being increased to 700ccDo you mean a Honda Deauville? If it was, it really was a crisis a very sad tragic crisis
The Police would more likely have used the Pan European which was 1100cc with later ones being 1300cc
I've just bought a Very nice 2003 Deauville after not having been on a bike in 26 or 27 years

Thanks Folks,
Think I'll give it a pass
Whilst in Egypt staying at Nabq we went on a trip to Sharm to go on a boat trip, Whilst on the trip we stopped in a lovely bay adjacent to a hotel on the beach where you could snorkel inside the reef, When we got back to England it took weeks to track down the name of the hotel and find an operator who offered it.
We went once, thoroughly enjoyed being able to swim out to the reef and snorkel, The next year we came to go Sharm had suffered a flight bombing or something and Sharm was off the approved list :(
