  1. I think they looking great. Have you heard of Briwax .if you used that on the wood they would take on an aged look . Hey you dont hang about when making summit .

    I believe he said he's 74 now ?

He ain't got time to hang about

  2. My neighbour has previously taken it upon herself to replace part of my boundary fence to visually enhance her garden, mainly in so much as she had it done with close boarded panels to match Her fence the other side of the her garden but we've ended up with the rails facing us not that I'm bothered by that.

She's recently announced she's having the remaining posts and 8 panels replaced when she can afford to,

    Today,

Tells me she's having it done in a couple of weeks, (coinciding with my being away) and tells me she's having it done with certain height panels at either end and a run of lower panels between, Basically the finished height will be about 6"-8" higher than now and the higher 6ft panels that enclose our patio will be reduced .

Anyways, I said I was agreeable to the proposed lower section but didn't want to lose one of the two 6ft high panels that enclose the side of our patio, And if that was her plan, then that wasn't acceptable,

She turned around and told me, "Well, as I'm paying for it, YOU don't have a lot of say in the matter"

    😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

me, "REALLY ? I'll tell you what then Do NOT touch, interfere with, or replace MY fence !! That's my say.

then she tells me it's "not your fence it's Jens' (my land lady's) fence"

Yes, "that's right, and as the tenant and my land lady's agent, "It's My Fence so long as I'm the tenant so leave it alone!"

😡😡😡😡😡😡. Grrrrrrrr I been spitting feathers all afternoon.

  3. Thread revival warning

Well saga of this blessed Oak monster goes on.

The old lady died suddenly a little while back, so the family have appeared out of the woodwork and been around and tried to loot the place, sadly I think they've all been disappointed  I think her daughter & granddaughters maybe even been a little embarrassed at how the old lady's been living.

The daughter who I assume has inherited the house has told me she'll get around to getting something done to the tree but I'm not holding my breath

The neighbour the other side of me is, (I think) maybe poo stirring, telling me old lady's daughter has said that it my responsibility to pay someone to prune back the tree that overhangs my garden.

I am of course going to have to have a chat with the family of the ol' lady, But being as they only cremated her a week ago I'm not in any rush to bother them over a tree.

  4. Hey,

    That's great news then :good:

10 years to go, Seems like a while but every July 24th you can say 9, 8 or whatever now :)

Look back now and see how quickly 10 years has disappeared.

    Congrats

  5. I'm in East Harling next week for 12 days camping,

That's it I'm bringing my two mowers and 1 wife and petrol strimmer for a service/repair and sharpen up.

One condition though, can you do the mowers and strimmer first   as they're much more useful.

If you start with the wife  You'll have had enough and given up b4 getting to the mowers

  6. The difference between NI and rest of UK is that in NI MoT's are only done by the DVA Northern Ireland so they have no vested interest in finding work to generate profit unlike garages on the mainland UK that are licensed MOT test stations, many of whom have proven to have varying degrees of scruples.

Ordnance : here on mainland, If you leave a vehicle to be repaired at the garage/licenced test centre most of them will give a free retest, or if you take it away, repair and take back within a short time scale you get a reduced priced retest.

  7. cheers kind sir, yes there are 2 like mine that have been on ebay from williams classics one for £10,000 and the other £15,000, iv just been looking on www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk[/size]

  8. Yeah, they come to us, we don't charge a penny so they keep all their takings, but it offers a service to my customers.

Your previous post sounds great - bit of variety

I hope you at least get a bottle of something come Christmas time.

  9. Following our experience earlier in the year with the ESS that we fostered, which viciously attacked us within 24hrs, and turned out attacked the origional owners wife, And a young couple who bought the dog and returned it same day just two days prior to it coming to us.

Spaniel Aid's only concern was to get the dog back for rehoming

I'm a dog lover but some peoples priorities seriously need readjusting.

  10. If using a sat nav as a speed limit warning device it's important to keep it updated as information can be out of date should roads have speed limits reduced/temporarily imposed.

Mine for example goes off indicating a 20mph limit that was temporarily imposed on the A12 due to lane closures and bridge repairs,

Obviously when sat nav manufacturer 'mapped' the route this 20mph limit was listed.
