Your in Menorca and and looking at feathered birds and saying wow.  You can tell your of a certain age.

Son Bou beach for that kind of bird watching figgy.I could watch Euopean birds all day but have to swap the bino's for Mirror Sun glasses.Stops my face connecting with the wife's hand.😇

  2. Just seen my 1st Hoopoe today while driving down a narrow lane in Menorca.Thought it was a Jay at 1st glance as it flew over the road about 5mtrs in front of the car.It landed on a fence and it's crest opened,WOW what a sight.

  3. I stopped shooting in 2015 and stayed away from PW for that reason.I purchased a MX5 as a hobby and project.Although there is specialist forums there is no compassion other that criticism.

PW has such a good bunch of folk, argument yes but always an apology @ the end of a heated debate.Although i no longer shoot i missed the Off Topic,Craft and Motor sections.

However getting back on subject, I needed some advise on a compressor to make undersealing (Dinitol ) an easier task.I don't need anything too expensive as it wont get a great deal of use.Lots of very helpful advise and recommendation as one would expect from the PW massive.Out of the blue a PM from figgy stating he has a spare one and i could have it for FREE! Now I've met figgy on a number of occasion and the guy is a gentleman and in particular  very good crack.I went down today to pick it up and he wouldn't take any money for it.(i will make a donation to War Hero's)

figgy your are a gentleman & you have made a job a lot easier for an old man.

I think it's wrong a main dealer bumping g up the price.

Speak to Suzuki UK see what they say.

They may just test the water as to what the public will pay. As much as I like them no way would I pay 20k for a Jimny.

Got an email back from Stoneacre, the car advertised is their demo (cant be sold for 12mths?) and not actually for sale. They state that its placed to  attract interest. However there is no indicator anywhere within the advert that it is anything other than a car for sale.Sure thats a breech of advertising somewhere.

I wouldn't pay over the list price for one but keep seeing them popping up for 3/4 k more. Was shocked to see an actual authorised dealer advertising one for nearly 4k over list.Even though they have admitted its a advert and not a for sale add its still wrong. Why didn't they use their usual Auto Trader add if that's the case.

  5. Everyone knows the new Jimny has a waiting list of 12 to 18mths.Some lucky enough to get one have sold them immediately for 3k more than the list price.Nothing wrong with that i suppose. However when it comes to a Suzuki dealer doing it is it wrong?i.e Stoneacre advertising a shop soiled Z5 for  £22,995 when if your order one from same dealer and wait will cost you £18,035

If I ( having online banking ) want to transfer money to someone who doesn’t have online banking, do I need anything other than their name, sort code and account number, to do so?

Or can I not do it?

    Thats all you need mate

  7. It is good and i use it a lot.Mainly to check what the previous MOT's hold rather than the latest.I don't trust the latest MOT especially if the garage that is selling said car has done the MOT.

This proved evident when i bought a Jimny from Stoneacre  full MOT with no advisories.I had my suspicions after one front caliper started binding.Took it to my local garage (even though it had warranty) to have the whole car checked over.Corroded brake lines, excessively pitted front discs, unbalanced braking distrubution and quite a few advisories.

What i tend to do now is on the prev MOT's where their is advisories i ask to see paper work to prove correction. If none & a casual "its been done"attitude i walk away.Stoneacre took the car back after a long battle.

  8. We couldn't get finance due to mortgage paid off in 92 and no credit cards.Apparently having no debt means they can't judge your credit rating.

Wife did mange to get her car on a PCP which she will keep by paying the ballon fee in June 2019.I just buy my cars cash, but never spent more than £7000.Ive always managed to get the screen price of below with the warranties ect.The last onei got a straight swap and £500 back when i swapped my 2013 Nissan Note for a 2006 MX5.The 5 is my hobby and project car so no more cars for me.The only ride after the 5 will be in the rear of a herse

  9. Bee been bugging me in the garden, got sick so chased it away by waving my arms about.Leave it alone! she shouts, its only a lovely little bee. He then comes back and stings her on her eyebrow. Now he's a little (god the language).Looks like she's took a punch off Joe Bugner and its all my fault apparently.

Wetherspoons! Fab coffee bargain price! Here in Newcastle I like two places! Pumphries roasting house in blaydon, and a small coffee shop above start fitness in the town centre called Camber Coffee!

Nice coffee in Start & yah need one after seeing the prices on them downhill bikes lol. That place in the Green Markets nice too

  11. I think a better solution would be to limit new drivers to say 1ltr (restricted due to the likes of the ecoboost & the likes being a bit nippy). Then if they keep a clean book allow them to move up to a higher CC.Bit like the motorcycle licence.

Supercars maybe should be clean licence for 5yrs & an advanced driving course.

Be an absolute plonker and be made to sell said supercar and go back down to 1lt.

It should be compulsory for every footballer to be limited to a push bike. With stabilizers and a bell of course.

  12. No wonder we are paying extra on our premiums. They wonder why people drive around with no insurance.

Some kid has a car worth £200/£500 and is then required to pay hundreds a month to insure it.

I know they are are high risk but come on its highway robbery what theses insurance companies are getting away with.

It would be fair if they gave back 75% if they never had an accident & proved no risk. Can't see that happening can you.

The whole paying for the uninsured is solely self created by the insurance companies for being greedy.

When they send me my renewal and i say no thanks i can get it £200 cheaper for the identical cover elsewhere. They then turn around and say let us match it.Eh hold on a mo, you try and purposely set out to  defraud me by £200 and then openly admit you will match another provider.Bloody theft in my eyes, no different than being mugged in the street for £200.

I'm 49 this year and probably look older, but I don't honestly care. Yet I offended a female friend when I joked that she was 6 months older then me. Would a bloke get up set if you said he was older then he actually was or gave him banter about it.

I don't get women full stop.Mines nuts, like a ticking time bomb especially @ that time of the month. She's got her own Mood Swing in the front garden.Think ill get me self a Crash helmet & a stab proof vest, or one of those Tazer sticks.I once asked a woman for here title Ms/Miss/Mrs ? I didn't want to call her by her first and last name. You'd of thought id asked to see her jugs..

Its why men buy sheds i suppose. When my boss told me he was getting married, i told him B&Q had 50% off their sheds. He didn't click on lol, give it 12mths and it will sink in.

But its not a GE, are you not bothered what happens in your local area?

They are all lying about getting a pot hole. filled in mate. The very same pot they are all trying to claim the credit for getting fixed. Its still there, when filling in potholes is more creditable than sorting crime what's the point.

Having a look at the Durham County Council councillors expenditure sheets make you want to puke.Once elected you never see them ever.Oh unless you look in the local bookies or Social Club.

Then further up the chain you have the leader of Durham CC who wiped out 4m debt for Durham County Cricket Club. The very same scumbag who has a private box in that big fancy ground at Chesterlee Street. Local councilors lining there pockets with on average  end of year13k expenses sheets. While all our schools are losing vital support staff who after 24 yrs service are being made redundant (minimum redundancy) Which is less than the average expense sheet for a local councillor
