  1. My experience of them has been very positive. Face to face and a while ago but couldn't do enough for me and my mate, mind we spent £1500 in there so I'd be surprised if they didn't.

I had issues afterwards with a leaky seal in my TDR, they picked it up sorted it out and had it back to me in 4 days. They also sent me a card to remind me to drop it in for annual servicing, remembering I had problems when I got it they touched up a few scratches on the cylinder and replaced some seals free of charge, waiving the carrier to send it back to me.

Couldn't really have been much better really.

  2. I think the person sending this letter has to be connected to the ground in question, the police aint had time to investigate this yet so who else could have had his details other than the ground?

If the ground have sent him a letter, why would it be on police letterhead? If it is, that's pretty serious and potentially more stupid than the original poorly thought out comments from the poster.

Unless I am mistaken the police logo is at least Crown Copyright, at worst this could be impersonating a police officer? Not sure either of those is wise.

  3. for someone on here to have found his address and gone to the effort to forge a letter seems very far fetched.

    I'm still thinking Troll

If you were the owner / associated with the shop in some way (the one the alleged faulty gun was allegedly purchased from) then finding out the address would be trivial...

  4. That would come before a grant, not after, surely.

Thinking about what's been said they are hardly going to mail you and say they are revoking it, if they have reason to suspect you are unfit they will come round and remove the weapons surely?

The only way you'll prove us all wrong is scan or take a picture of the letter, blank out any personal details and post it.

  5. That's all cool mate, this is an internet forum and you posted a comment about someone dobbing you in for saying something you shouldn't - because you posted it on a public forum people are commenting on what you have said.

I was trying to tell you that pretending it wasn't you that made the comments, AGAIN, on an open forum isn't clever. Do you not think the cops will be monitoring what you say? If the person who grassed you up did it once, do you not think they might forward on to the cops the rest of what you have said?

I keep my nose clean, I am no saint mate but I see my SCG/FAC as reward for having kept and continuing to keep my nose clean. Most ordinary people when they are ripped off tend to try and stay within the law to be recompensed, rather than threatening to rip peoples heads off and shoot their property.

  6. and as i know know not to say to much on hear, but i dont remember posting that, maybe it was someone else who hacked into my forum name :good::lol:

Just be careful mate, if they feel they need to they could serve a court order on the site owner to have him reveal IP details for the poster that made the comments. From that they can go to your ISP and confirm you had that IP at the time. From that they can then take whatever action they deem fit.

You don't want to be making this into something it isn't.

  7. From the information given we know where he bought the gun from, when and what model it was. Adding to that the fact that he will have sent a form in stating what it was / serial no / where purchased.

Not exactly hard for the plod to work out.

Poster was warned not to be saying things like that on an open forum, the forum has pinned notices to this effect. Daft really.

I'll come out and say it which might make me unpopular, but do we need people wanting to "rip off" peoples heads and go round causing criminal damage with firearms having an SGC?

You are supposed to keep your nose clean, can say what you like behind closed doors.

Do bear in mind this is a PUBLIC forum, any member of the public could have reported this post to the authorities and it was most likely an ANTI.

    Be careful out there!

  8. I think you might be talking about a "co-terminus" certificate which isn't any different to an individual SGC and FAC except that they both expire at the same time and you actually pay LESS than you would if you got them separately.

This doesn't give you the right to share guns, you'd still have to square that off with the FLO. In theory if both people both have SGC's, and both people have FAC's with slots for ALL the weapons then this can fly.

There isn't a special certificate which allows you to share weapons.

  9. Another cabinet is the solution.

Whilst some forces consider adding the same weapon onto two certificates for this very reason many simply won't do it.

There isn't any way around the law, in the situation you give as an example :-

You would have access to shotguns which you are not lawfully allowed to possess (even with an FAC)

Your father would have access to firearms which he is not lawfully allowed to possess

You'd both be breaking the law for not preventing access to the respective weapons in accordance with your licenses.

  10. You can work it out since the ballistics of the .17 HMR pill are known, but it's bloody complicated "maffs" and it's a Sunday

In a direct crosswind of 10mph I would expect the .17 HMR to be deflected about .2" roughly - as has been said not enough to miss a rabbit really.

  11. I use a night vision monucalr simalar to the Lidl one. But I also use a 8" square infrared plate which I, or my mate, holds in front of my 1/2 million candle power lamp. This greatly increases the range and intensity of the monocular.

Have a look at this post I put on a while ago, http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/ind...st&p=261539

I tried holding the sheet up but it's easily cut with a dremmel or similar
