  1. Hi guys. Thanks for tour replies. Gordon R Please see the below web link. http://www.claytargetsports.com/Blaser/Blaser_F3_SuperSport.aspx Most of the time I shoot DTL, and occasionally skeet. From this mini brousure you can swap and change the spec to convert the super sporter to a trap gun. I think the hight of the rib on the super trap is to high for my liking and the sporter size would be a better match for me. My first question was to see if it is a quick click and there you go change in hight or if its a huge task, I might not bother. I am really trying to make one gun do two jobs. ( I hope you get what I mean.) Cawdor118 I'd love to go out and buy a Dt10 X Trap. Stunning gun. I am a lefty and have been looking for one for about a year now. I have seen two lefty s come up, but for different reasons I did not buy them. I have looked at the Dt11 and where that too is a stunning gun, I think Beretta spoiled us with the DT10 and in my opinion, I prefer the 10. With the F3 I can get a new gun with a 10 year warranty in a lefty just for a little more than a second hand x trap. (But saying that, if the right xtrap came up I would get that lol) Thanks again for your replies.
  2. Hi guys. Has anyone got one / shot one. How easy are these to higher lower the rib. Thinking of buying one, and getting it altered (at the factory) for trap shooting. Just wanted to see what others thought of them. Thanks POL.
  3. Hi mate I have the Maxus. Lovely looking gun, handles excellently. I use it for the farm and occasionally for skeet shooting. I also have a Beretta 682 trap gun for trap shooting. This is a heaver gun, and even with 32g carts in the Maxus, there is less recall, than the heaver trap gun with 28g. The Maxus also comes with a speed loader, which is great, I am not sure if the other autos have this. Get someone to show you this. It’s one of those things you will only miss if you have had it and lots it! If I was being fussy, and this is only because I am used to the Beretta, I wish the rib was a little higher. I know the Benelli Super Sport has this and I wish I looked at that too. (I only looked at the M2 from the Benelli range). Cleaning wise, Maxus so easy. Very different to other auto’s. Like others say, get into a shop and try them out. Happy shooting mate. Let’s us all know which one you go for. I hope Santa’s good to you this year.
  4. I was with the kids today enjoying a walk over Wat Tyler Country Park in Pitsea, when I could hear gun shots in the background. Now I know I am near the estuary and also near lots of farms but the shots seemed too constant. Is there a clay ground near there? Only other thought was the guys on the salt marshes. But they were either having a great day or just not very good lol. If a clay ground, does any one know the contact details. Thanks Pol. Ps. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong area.
  5. Turned to the Skeet Side Hi guy. I have been shooting DTL now for just over two years, which I enjoy very much. I got invited along with a mate to try my hand at skeet, which again; I really enjoyed. Do any of you skeet guys use trap guns for this discipline, or is it best to use a sporter? I had three rounds and shot 18/25 on each round, which I was pleased with. My bogy peg was the centre one! Looking forward to giving it another go at the weekend. Thanks POL
  6. I have a Beretta 682 trap fixed choked gun. Is it possible to get the gun modified so I am able to use it as a multi choked gun? If this is possible, is this advisable? Again if possible, will this shoot as well as a multi choked gun? Thanks POL
  7. Hi guys Can anyone recommend an antique gun dealer specialising in WW I or II pistols? Closer to Essex the better. Thanks and regards, POL
  8. Hi Try login on the following web page:- http://log.concept2.com/log_start.asp?p=/log.asp Here you will see others who attempt the same as you as you can log your times distances etc. Great effort! POL
  9. I have the same mail as you from Avalon! Thats where I noticed them. Thanks all for your reply.
  10. HotRox Electronic Hand warmer Has anyone got one? Are they any good? POL
  11. Skeet Shooting Hi guys. I have been shooting DTL for nearly two years now, and I am constantly hitting mid 90’s now. I still love shooting this discipline, but fancy a go at somthing else and skeet looks like the next step. A couple of questions here:- Is skeet the next step to take? I have a Beretta 682 Trap gun (fixed chokes), which I use for DTL, I also have a Browning Maxus semi (multi choke) which I use over the farm for pigeon shooting. I know the trap gun with this fixed chokes is not the best to use for skeet? Do people use semis for skeet? If so would I also use the cylinder choke, or would it be best to invest in a sporter? Finally, (if you have got this far!) can anyone recommend a friendly skeet club in Essex to point me in the right directions and give me a hand / coaching? Has anyone shot at the Southend Gun club. I think they shoot skeet. I am having trouble contacting them. I am in the Wickford Billericay area; the local clubs tend to be sporting clubs. Thanks guys and happy shooting. POL
  12. Great write up and great shooting. Like you, I will be out for the first time on the winter rape this Friday. (Feel like a kid waiting for Christmas!) Fingers crossed I have a similar outcome as you. POL.
  13. I just called back the retailer. They come with a 1 year warranty. If they do split in a year, I’ll get my money back. (I hope lol). The advised that they have sold over 100 pairs of these and non have been returned. For £30, it’s a gamble I am willing to take! My last pair of boots (Hunters) lasted me 15+ years. Let’s hope I get a few years out of the Seelands!
  14. John Norris is having a sale on Seealand Boot. I have just bought (and awaiting delivery of) The Seeland Country Neoprene Boots. Not bad for £29.99 me thinks! http://www.johnnorris.co.uk/shop/ty_982-*deals-of-the-week/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_content=Untitled1&utm_campaign=70%25+Off+Seeland+Neoprene+Boots Can't wait to try them out. It says they only have 11, 12 and 13's left, but when I called them I they said they had extra stock and I got a 10. Happy shooting. POL
  15. Thanks mate. I will check these out. Regards, POL
  16. I have been shooting DTL for just over a year now and my scores are improving. I am really enjoying this, but I would like to try my hand at skeet, but the club I belong too only has DTL layouts. Can anyone suggest a good ground in the Essex area (I am not far from Billericay) that has a skeet layout. I am looking for a friendly club that could give me some coaching. Thanks guys. POL.
  17. Sorry, after posting the formatting we funny, Re attached first message so it is easier to read:- ----------------------------------------------------------------- How are classification calculated for DTL? For example I know the most recent classifications published are:- AA = 95.7 plus A = 92.7 – 95.6 B = 88.3 – 92.6 C = 88.2 and below Therefore, you record a score of: Hits = 94 Points = 275 Do you use the hits as your percentage ie 94.00% (which is a A Class Score). Or Calculated on your points scored out of a maximum of 300 ie:- 275 / 300 X 100 = 91.67% (Which is a B Class Score). Thanks
  18. Has anyone used Field and Moor in Bedfordshire. I found some good stuff on their web page, but like to speak with someone before I order anything. I have rung them several times over the last few days with no one picking up the phone. Any good bad experiences received? Thanks POL
  19. Has anyone got one. Are they any good. Are they for the warmer weather. Thanks. Pol
  20. Hi I was going to by a pair of M Frames but was told that they were going to stop making them and the lenses, thus if replacements were needed it was only going to be old stock that was going to be available. A suggestion was made to look at the Oakley Radar line, which I bought. You can get the lenses in three different sizes. (Pitch, Range and Path). Great thing with these is that you can wear them for shooting then pop out your shooting lenses and pop in a dark lenses and use it for the beach. Have a look at the G26 Iridium lens. These are fantastic. I bought this and the Persimmon lens but now only use the G26. The clarity it gives you is fantastic. The only thing I will say with the Oakley lenses is the scratch very easily. Make sure you store them in the correct case and do not put two lenses together in the same box as they will rubb. My mate did and the scratch was so large it affected his view and that’s £60 quid lost! I got mine from http://sunglassesuk.com There site is down at the moment (which is not much help!) but it says you can call. I hope this helps. Regards, POL
  21. Santa was kind to me and in my stocking this year was a Browning semi Auto Maxus Grade 3. I will be using it for the first time at the weekend. I feel like a kid counting the minutes down and full of excitement. The gun comes with five chokes. Two being ½ size. One flushed the other extended. What are the differences between them both? What are their advantages and what should the extended choke be used for? Thanks POL
  22. Keeping your decoys from getting damaged whilst in you kit bag in transit across the farm. Just bought some shell decoys. How do you guys stop them from getting damaged in the bottom of you bag during transit before setting up. I was thinking of buying one of the 5 gallon bucket seats to put them in. Are they any good? I look forward to your comments. (And am expecting some witty ones!!) Thanks POL
