  1. I use Red dot in both my 223 and 308 with good success. I found it much cheaper and easier than buying a new rifle.
  2. If you reload, you can always download your 22-250 to Hornet perfomance and loudness.
  3. Thanks for the tip. I think you're right, the moderated version does seem to hold on to its value very well. I wonder if its worth buying a new regular Mossberg and adding a Hushpower myself?
  4. Cash and ticket waiting.
  5. Your definition would encompass deer as vermin too, as well most game species. In my experience, the Police's definition is not the same as that in a dictionary. For instance I have been told by my TVP FLO that although now that Canada geese are classed as pests, I still cannot shoot them without that specific condition on my FAC. Incidentally, after a recent variation, TVP has added the fox condition to my HMR even though I have not requested it.
  6. Well, it's certainly cheaper... You're talking about the new Compact Modular version? I don't know anything about that one. Is it a reflex design, and how much does it weigh? Are there any details on the web?
  7. The ASE CQB is the lightest and the most effective CF mod that I have used on either my .223 or .243, easily beating the T4/8 and DM80. It is made of steel, just like the T4/8, so it will rust if not oiled from time to time.
  8. Try fitting a lighter spring, such as THIS ONE. It makes a huge difference to the feel of the trigger.
  9. I don't wonder, I know. My early T3 Varmint Stainless is a 1:12". Which I have verfied by pushing a patched cleaning rod rod up the barrel, and seeing how far it went in for one whole rotation.
  10. Nikon are now mostly made in the Philippines.
  11. Used to be Ive, they've started making them in 1-12 now as well as 1-8, details here. SNIP The early T3s in 223 were 1:12" like the older 59x series. It then changed to 1:8" when the T3 Tactical was introduced, and now recently there seems to be the option of either with Tikka and Sako. It's widely accepted that the most accurate bullets are those that are only 'just' stabilised, so for foxing and best trajectory go for the 1:12" for up to 60gns, and for target and best BC go for the 1:8" for anything heavier.
  12. Hello, I live in Wallingford and am interested in your kind offer. I have FAC air through to .243 and DSC1 and do a bit of vermin shooting around Thame and Witney. If you like to meet up and share a shoot please do PM me.
  13. Nikon 5-20x44 Sidefocus BDC reticle The very latest, updated version of the acclaimed Monarch range, webpage HERE New and boxed Nikon 5-20x44 SF scope with BDC reticle, including lens flip up covers, sunshade, extra sets of high target and low hunting style turrets and covers. WITHDRAWN
  14. Thanks for the endorsement Bob. The Sportsman's scope does appear to be the cheapest Artemis 3000 scope available in the UK but they are out of stock and that is the older discontinued model. It was replaced by the new model Meostar R1, which is what I am selling. Even if one could buy from the Sportsman, there's still P&P to pay and another £20 for a set of Butler Creek lens covers to factor in. The US site mentioned might work out to be a good deal, but don't forget postage and import duty which adds around 25% overall. The 'hassle factor' and wondering if it will turn up is also something to consider. Finally, it should be mentioned that SWFA won't export to the the UK, however you might find others that will do. My price is not set in stone, but the scope is worth significantly more than offers received so far. Don't forget, this is a BRAND NEW scope.
  15. Mine is the top of the range Meostar R1 version, NOT the cheaper Artemis 3000 version. The Meopta catalogue explains the differences. The price is currently £450.
  16. Well, this scope is perfect for centrefire foxing and stalking. It's Meopta's top of the line model. The optics are on par with seriously expensive German stuff.
  17. Meopta Meostar R1 3-12x56 with 4B reticle. Brand new and boxed with Butler Creeks covers, unwanted gift. £550 from local gunshop, I'm selling for £450, so save yourself £100! Price drop to £425
  18. I've just traded in a Sako 75 Deluxe against a Finnlight, both in .243. I found the Deluxe too long and heavy with scope, bipod and mod.
