  1. Still looking for a Trap Laurona. Had a few in the past and nostalgia is getting to me. There msut be one out there.
  2. Rarms - conspiracy - he's charged with conspiring with others unknown to sell illegal weapons. If they haven't got anything, they wouldn't have got it through the CPS fast charging system. He is not guilty as yet, but clearly has a case to answer.
  3. If you can see any rib at all, your gun is shooting high. Your rib must not taper from the breech to the muzzle in a downward direction. This too, will shoot high.
  4. A mate of mine has one. Very impressed. Never seen a jam and decent handling. Prefer them to Berettas, which seem to have cornered the auto market.
  5. Suddenly gone off the idea. Hadn't really considered health risks to my dog. quote name='new to the flock' date='Sep 12 2006, 11:07 PM' post='215997'] Doing a controled breeding both dogs will be on a leash with handlers present. It is not uncommon for a breeder to want to breed back to a pup that they have bred in the past. However over here it is the breeders responsibility to have the hip and eye certification done and stud fees are; a pup back or the price of a puppy. Also be sure that the breeder has her bitch tested for k9 brucellosis (sp)...doggie vd... and k9 herpies virus as both can cause many problems for your male if exposed to the virus. NTTF
  6. I do not have gundogs, but could still do with some advice. I have two Japanese Akitas. The bitch has been spayed and we never had any intention to breed. I have been asked by the owner of an Akita bitch if I would agree to use my dog to do the deed. I don't want a pup, but don't want to seem awkward. My dog looks the part and I can see why he wants to breed from it. It's very well boned, striking looking and ten stone. However, it's four years old and has never mated. It doesn't get the chance to mix with other dogs and I'm a bit worried about them fighting. My dog was attacked last year, by a Labrador in St Ives. My dog was on its' lead and the Lab came running up the beach and launched into it. My dog made a bit of a mess of the Lab, and I don't want a repeat. Is it too late to start? Advice appreciated.
  7. When my shotgun cert was up for renewal, the bloke came round quickly and was very good. I asked him about my spare keys. They are in a mate's gun cabinet, some miles away. He said my mate should not have access and I should put them in a small safe which is fixed on top of my gun safe. I asked where I should keep the spare keys for the safe - no answer. Any advice?
  8. Mungler - you must let me know where you can get a Beretta 687 Sporter for £350. I checked Guntrader and a few others. Only found one o/u less tha £500 and it was "well used". £500 sounds about right.
  9. Roe Doe - spot on. They even have cartridges printed with their "Away Team" logo on them. Spotted one with different shoes to the others acouple of weeks ago. I'll bet there was an inquest on that one. It is probably just harmless fun and it really doesn't bother us. It just seems a little odd.
  10. Struggling with the link - can't find a trace. quote name='verminshooter29' date='Sep 10 2006, 11:20 AM' post='215073'] hi mate am a big 101 fan myself you could try america gunshop.com.htm he sells 2nd hand parts some lovely guns as well.let me know how you get on Tracker 01 - any idea which Brownings? I've just tried my GTi trap and, although it's of similar dimensions, the fit is way off.
  11. Big Den - Went to Worsley today. I saw all these skeet vest with Manchester etc and just assumed they were a bunch of friends with the same taste in clothing. A bit scary. I shoot at one club where four shooters wear identical vests, trousers, shoes - now they are scary. Just didn't realise about the change of name. Targets, clubhouse and food have improved - shame about the road.
  12. Any 101 stock, even the long trigger version - HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Magman - I 'm sure I bumped into Reg Bryant at the now defunct Croughton SG at Chester - probably about 15 years ago. He was a decent shot and a nice bloke. Not seen him since as I shoot Lancashire / Yorkshire mainly. Is he still shooting?
  14. I trust you bought the gun. I had a Winchester 91 (Laurona) in the late 80's. Best gun I have owned and I've had a lot from Browning B125 FI, 325 and 425, to Miroku and Winchester 101's.
  15. Want a Winchester or Classic Doubles 101 stock. Would prefer Trap stock with short trigger guard, but others considered.
  16. I am looking to buy a Laurona Trap o/u. 30" or 32". Not bothered whether it is fixed or multi-choked. Will buy, but have a Browning GTI 32" Trap - full and 3/4. Might be interested in Laurona plus cash. I want one in very good nick if swapping, but if just buying would consider one with mint mechanics, but wood needing work.
