  1. wayne he had loads of experience but in the heat of battle forgot he had his blaser and was trying to lift the bolt. LOL
  2. your rifle might do that but can you? it was shot off sticks after a good stalk and i even had a touch of fever and all i was holding was the camera. My clients don't shoot 5% off a bipod everything is off sticks. Neck shots I do not allow unless the client is a regular and the shots are under 50m's. Also on flatter ground like this a boiler house shot "grounds" sooner then a neckshot animal. It was clerly a good shot and even on my monitor could see the blood gushing from the wound, when he stopped and his back dipped he was clearly in his last seconds. I see my clients kill over 160 deer every year + what i have shot over 25 years, I think I can judge whats right and wrong. regards john
  3. Shot this morning, unaware of us at 80m's with a .308 and 150gr hornady interlocks. both lungs were shot out.
  4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jiDeHLqiC7U&list=UUSW7TWPvQDa8mDosB2eczHw&index=1&feature=plcp one shot out of a box also a 7 pointer.
  5. you can buy the new duralyts cheaper then a 8x56 now. all my rifles are still factory barrels.
  6. colin or mark can bunk with you mate your snoring is ledgendary. :yp:
  7. The fact is i am sponsored by them but only 1 scope and pair of binos belong them. The rest are mine!! Me and spud have a factory visit in Germany next month. Can't wait. Taken me 25 years of Tasco's and Burris's to get to this point. Been a long journey but its paid off. My advise is to anyone don't jump in and buy cheap you get nowt s/h for it. Save a little longer and get the best.
  8. and i would have to be just plain daft to be sponsored by zeiss and have kit like that and put the scopes on sideways.
  9. The elevation is on top, windage on one side and illumination, paralax turret on the other side.
  10. Had it quite a while and its top glass. was on the 6.5 as my stalking glass but has made its way down onto the rimmy over the years.
  11. good guess the hMR is wearing Kahles glass another great scope. (am i allowed to say that?)
  12. Just having a tidy up in the rifle cabinet. Thought this might make a mouth watering photo. can you spot the odd 1 out? rifles are sako75 finlite 6.5x55 tikka 690 dlx 7mm rem mag sako 75 22250 mannlicher .222 mag annie .17hmr fabarm asper express 9.3x74 think they cover most events i might encounter.
  13. A big lad like you can soon flatten the knettles anyway. TIT
  14. You missed nothing here mate. A strong cold nth wind made the roe vanish and only tom shot the only 1 that i am aware of. Been poor the roe now have summer coats on and are very wind(less) dependant. Well done. Just 1 question I now tell clients to leave the bipods off as the cover is well up and all shooting is now off sticks which is hampered by a bipod. They are also pretty useless in woodland and usually not safe. Do you loose yours in the summer and tell clients? They still turn up with them fitted and carry 2lb more around then they need to Each to their own i'm just curious. Laydown hhere now your in the knettles and can't see over them.
  15. I would imagine the hen went in first. then the 2 cocks were fighting over her on the top, they triggered the trap and there you go.
  16. Very interesting. I started my true foxing career many years ago with a .22wmr and its caperble. 40gr are fine and it will kill cleanly in the body out to 125m's. But if you are going to be foxing seriously then go to a centrefire. The hornet i made kills out to 200y and its very effetive below that range. Then when you go to 222 upwards your into real fox killing territory and a hit nearly anywhere will spell the end for charlie. I understand if you are shooting near building ect that a cf is maybe to much but the hornet will be safer then a .22 wmr and just as quiet.
  17. the last couple of outings captured on film. The bucks on here offered marginal chances, would you have had time or taken neck shots?? They were between 50-110m's and we stood shooting off sticks. This is only a bit of fun and under stalking conditions there wasn't much time to make your mind up and get comfy on the sticks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rr0MhssxXJI
  18. no idea, sorry. they are all filmed in HD now and if your computer is not hd ready might that be it. try play an older vid of mine see if that will play.
  19. they were using 3006's and a 6.5 with 156gr bullets they are rarley bothered by light folidge. sony hdr cx130 HD
  20. some great bucks there mate. but 0415 to get up? you had a lay in then. LOL
